August may be dubbed as the “ghost month,” but that didn’t stop many of us from celebrating their milestones this year, especially those who turned a year older. Among them are the nine stars featured in this edition of Kapamilya Snaps, who marked their birthdays with simple to huge celebrations. Read on to find out who they are.

Ogie Alcasid had fantastic early birthday fete
Since he wouldn’t be in the country on his 56th birthday on August 27, Ogie had an early celebration on It’s Showtime last August 19. And much to the delight of everyone, he shared the stage with two of his showbiz friends Manilyn Reynes and Michael V as his surprise guests.

The OPM icon sang “Pangako” with Manilyn, who used to be his onscreen partner, while he performed “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang” with his best friend Michael V. After their endearing performance, the three reminisced about the fondest and most unforgettable memories that they have shared in the past three decades that they’ve been friends.

Iza Calzado marked her 41st birthday with a dance class
Now that she has her daughter Deia Amihan, the 41st birthday celebration of Iza last August 12 indeed became extra special. She captioned her post, “Celebrating my birthday with our baby Deia is all that I could wish for. I never thought that one day I’d be thinking about someone else more than me on my birthday. Now, that’s a miracle!”

Instead of a party, Iza hosted a special dance class with the help of her generous friends. She uploaded a reel showing some of the highlights of their dance class and wrote in the caption, “Dancing is a way for me to connect—with my body, to the present moment, with kindred souls and with my family particularly my father.”

Sofia Andres had an intimate 25th birthday celebration
It might be a milestone birthday, but Sofia chose to turn 25 last August 24 last by having a small and simple celebration with her closest family and friends. Among those who were present in her intimate party were her partner Daniel Miranda and her celebrity friends Kathryn Bernardo, Sarah Lahbati, Donny Pangilinan, Michelle Vito, Kyle Echarri, Ria Atayde, Enzo Pineda, Hanna Pangilinan, Alora Sasam, and her The Iron Heart co-star Richard Gutierrez.

She also unleashed the inner femme fatale in her by rocking a pair of denim jacket and pants and a blonde bob wig, and posing to the camera with her favorite biscoff cake.

Chie Filomeno transformed into a sexy mermaid on her 27th birthday
It seemed that Chie turned herself into a feast on the photo she posted on the eve of her 27th birthday last August 15. She flaunted her sexy back while sitting on a table with a cake, cupcakes, fruits, and several decors on it.

And on August 16, she set Instagram ablaze by posting three gorgeous snaps of her, wherein she’s seen cladded in a black latex brassiere and a heavily embellished black skirt that resembled a mermaid’s tail.

Barbie Imperial went on a Palawan getaway
Going through the carousel of photos that she shared on IG two days after her 25th birthday last August 1, it seemed that Barbie chose to have a quiet and simple celebration as she turned 25.

She wowed her followers when she posted a few sexy snaps of her in an all-white ensemble, as well as aesthetic shots of the resort where she stayed and relaxed in El Nido, Palawan. She regarded it as her “new found paradise.”

Kira Balinger is glowing as she reached Level 23
Another celebrity who opted to keep her birthday celebration fanfare-free was Kira, who seemed to only have a private dinner when she turned 23 last August 3.

She also showed off her glowing beauty by posting two headshots of her and shared in the caption how her special day turned out. “The birthday blues creep up on me every year, yet my loved ones go the extra mile to make me feel loved and appreciated! Thank you for giving me new core memories to look back on and cherish!” she wrote.

Kira also to share her takeaways in the year that has passed. She stated, “Cheers to learning and unlearning, to making mistakes and forgiving ourselves for it, and to growing older yet remaining young at heart!”

Sam Cruz had an intimate dinner with her whole family
As she marked her last year as a teenager, Sam kicked it off by being surrounded by her closest loved ones. She was treated to an intimate dinner by her parents Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano, with her sisters Angelina and Chesca and their other loved ones joining them.

According to Sunshine, they decided to celebrate a few days before Sam’s birthday on August 24 since both she and Cesar would be out of the country for their respective endeavors. Yet, she promised to make it up to their daughter once they get back. Sam also went partying with a few of her friends on that same night.

Enzo Pineda received a sweet birthday tribute from Michelle
For his 33rd birthday last August 12, Enzo’s beloved girlfriend Michelle Vito posted a sweet tribute for him through an IG reel, featuring some of their most memorable and kilig moments together.

The Kapamilya actress sweetly captioned it, “my joy and love of my life, happy birthday. love always, love all ways.”

Gary Valenciano shared special day with wife Angeli, ASAP Natin ‘To family
August 6 will always be a special day for Gary as he doesn’t only turn a year older, but he and wife Angeli also celebrate their wedding anniversary on that day. For his 59th birthday, he performed some of his all-time favorite classics like “Sana Maulit Muli” and “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin” on ASAP Natin ‘To.

Mr. Pure Energy then posed with his wife in a couple of photos as they were also celebrating their 39th wedding anniversary.
