With a career that spans over 50 years, Maricel Soriano has earned a good reputation for being easy to work with in television and film – and it’s no wonder why. Aside from her gargantuan talent, the Diamond Star reports on set prepared with all requirements and personal necessities to guarantee a smooth-sailing taping or shooting. We totally agree that she’s a “Girl Scout.” Find out what she brings on set via her recent vlog.

Apart from her luggage, the Kapamilya actress has two storage drawers labelled according to content such as t-shirts, sleepwear, hand and face towels and socks, and leggings. “Buti pa ‘yung mga box ko may label. Eh, kayo wala pa ring label,” she quipped in her signature ‘taray’ tone and comedic flair.

The “extra” box includes essentials such as a first-aid kit, clothing tapes, and a rosary. Did you know that Maricel prefers “lampin” or baby cloth to wipe her sweat off? The last layer in the drawer has her collection of "lampin" embroidered with her initials.

Next is a transparent carry-on bag that contains products to get her through long, hot days like an ice aroma body mist, cooling wipes, cologne, and a mini electric fan, as well as air freshener sprays and disinfectants. “Lahat naglalagkitan na, sa shooting lagkitan ang tawag nila, pero si Inay fresh na fresh, ‘di ba?”

She also brings lamps and flashlights, “Kasi minsan meron kaming areas sa shooting o taping namin na madilim masyado, so naglalagay kami ng mga ilaw. Kasi mahirap na, baka hindi kami makita, hindi rin kami matawag. At saka mahirap na, baka mamaya may malalaking lizard na dumadaan hindi pa namin alam, ‘yung mga gano’n.” Add to that, a small vacuum, candles, sewing kits, and other tools put in separate storage boxes.

Although they mostly stay in air-conditioned tents, she opts to bring a desk fan in case there’s no air-conditioner, “Minsan ‘pag madaling setup lang, bibigyan kami ng chairs malapit doon sa location, doon lang kami nauupo. So, dapat may instant electric fan”

Of course, she doesn’t forget her toiletry kit which has basic items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, and hair and skincare products. Scented candles are her ultimate companion for a relaxing bath. Since they are locked in for weeks, she also brings her pillows and comforter.

The makeup and wardrobe teams will have an easier time since she provides her own stuff – with a vanity mirror even.

Aside from what was shown in the video, other things like taping bed, chairs, and coolers are already fixed in her van.

“’Yan ang mga dala-dala ko kasi ayaw ng Inay ninyo na maging problema siya sa set. Kailangan lagi akong handa. Girl Scout, gano’n! Para hindi ako magiging problema sa set. Ayokong sa aking manggagaling ang problema. Gusto ko, pagdating sa akin, wala silang problema,” shared the award-winning actress.

Inay Maricel is very much ready for her lock-in shoot presumably for her upcoming Kapamilya series Linlang which also stars Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino.
