From being that adorable and talented chubby girl who unfailingly blew our minds with her astonishing performances that paved the way for her to be the grand winner of The Voice Kids Season 2 seven years ago, Elha Nympha is now known as one of the very own New Gen Birit Divas of ASAP Natin ‘To.

And aside from her astounding song covers, she has also tried her hand in composing and producing songs through her recently-released masterpiece “Babalik,” which she promoted in her guesting in the latest episode of Hotspot.

Gregarious host DJ Jhai Ho commenced their fun chikahan by asking about her 18th birthday celebration last April 16, which she marked by having a magazine-inspired photoshoot that indeed wowed thousands of her followers. Since it coincided with Black Saturday, she and her family decided to go on a quick vacation in Bolinao, Pangasinan, wherein a surprise birthday party was thrown for her.

When asked for her birthday wish, Elha imparted that those would be for COVID to be finally gone so that we can all work normally again and for many of our kababayans to finally have better lives. At the same time, she aspires to be able to produce more songs like “Babalik,” as well as to be healthy physically and mentally.

And speaking of “Babalik,” she told the host that she wrote it one night at 3am in one of her trips to the comfort room and hummed a tune all of a sudden. That forced her to pull an all-nighter to finish the song and record it the following day.
According to her, it tells the story of someone she knows who’s been blinded by her love for her boyfriend, despite him and the relationship being toxic, and dedicates it to those who are “marupok” and “martir” when it comes to love. Aside from simply wanting the listeners to relate with it, she also wants them to hear who’s the real her is and to see her point of view when it comes to her music.

The young diva confessed, too, that she’s able to relate to the song at some point of her life after experiencing it once, but she has realized that she’s supposed to value herself since she’s a woman. Besides, she’s not a “plastic” type of person as she finds it unbearable for her to stay in a toxic relationship. She doesn’t also see herself staying in a relationship that’s already hurting or depressing her because she firmly believes that “once is enough, twice is too much”.

For her advice to those people who find it hard to let go, Elha stated, “Just keep going, at the end of the day, it’s your choice. Basta wala kang tinatapakang tao, just do it. Of course, i-consider mo rin na mahalin ang sarili mo”.

With regards to her most unforgettable performance ever, she revealed that it was her stint in the popular American variety television program “The Little Big Shots”. She recalled how it took her a lot of courage to step on its stage, as well as how pressured she was, thinking that she had the pride of the Philippines on his shoulders.

DJ Jhai Ho capped it off by asking her about her ultimate dream, which is for the people to be able to appreciate her real sound.

“When it comes to my music, it’s my own idea, it’s my own sound, it’s my own identity. And doon ko masho-showcase talaga kung ano ‘yong strengths ko and kung ano talaga ako. Hopefully, makapag-produce pa po ako ng maraming songs ko po and I aim to bring RnB OPM dito po sa Philippines and, hopefully, makikilala din po tayo internationally,” she stated.

She also looks up to HER, SZA, and Doja Cat as her musical influences.
