All weddings are beautiful, but their romantic charm is elevated when portrayed in Kapamilya teleseryes featuring couples with the most touching love stories. Through the years, Kapamilya series have left viewers swooning over the best wedding scenes, which were perfectly executed to look like a real event. Whether set in an old church, in opulent halls, or lavish gardens, no matter the choice of style or theme, these wedding scenes have never failed to satiate Pinoy audiences’ penchant for all things sweet.

As Valentine’s Day is just right around the corner, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and revisit some of the most romantic and stunning weddings in Kapamilya teleseryes.

A vintage-feel love affair

One of the most common motifs in teleserye weddings is classic-romantic – think of intricate interior, subtle colors, and traditional details that exude charming opulence. It speaks of eternity, like Daniel (Coco Martin) and Katerina (Julia Montes)’s wedding in “Walang Hanggan.” The nuptials was held at the San Agustin Church in Intramuros, graced by the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra for the live orchestral music. And instead of the typical bridal car, the couple was seen riding a horse-drawn carriage. In the entourage were co-stars Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Helen Gamboa, and Paulo Avelino.

Joyful exchange of I dos

The love story of Maya (Jodi Sta. Maria) and Richard aka Sir Chief (Richard Yap) in “Be Careful With My Heart” was a fairytale in itself but their wedding was even more dreamy and grand. With blue (Maya’s favorite color) and yellow (symbolizes her favorite flower, the sunflower) as motifs, the romantic nuptials was documented in a same-day edit video and aired throughout the whole episode. Richard and Jodi had a prenup pictorial, counselling session, followed tradition like forbidding the groom to see his future wife pre-ceremony, and had a full-blown reception in a big events place attended by ABS-CBN Executives.

Second chances and a breathtaking backdrop

CharDawn in an intimate wedding scene was nothing short of charming! In the story of “You’re My Home,” Gabriel (Richard Gomez) and Marian (Dawn Zulueta) painted the beauty of second chances by marrying again after a myriad of ordeals split their relationship and family apart. To add a pop of fun to the ceremony, the officiant, played by Tonton Gutierrez, brought handcuffs for the couple, which symbolized that they were finally home in each other’s arms and never leaving again.

A fun and enchanting wedding

From the white floral arrangements that lined the aisle to the muted colors worn by the entourage, Juan (Coco Martin) and Rosario (Erich Gonzales)’s wedding in “Juan dela Cruz” followed the aesthetic requirements of a classic Filipino theme. Outside the church, a festive atmosphere could be felt, with a grand feast featuring local cuisine and vibrant ‘banderitas’ all over – it doesn’t get any more Pinoy than this. Plus, the fairies with whom Juan became friends were invited, adding enchanting charm to the event.

Romance times three

The Samonte-Elizondo triple wedding! Dubbed as primetime’s hottest series at the time, “Pasion De Amor” set up a grand ceremony for the Elizondo sisters Norma (Arci Muñoz), Sari (Ellen Adarna), and Jamie (Coleen Garcia), and their partners, the Samonte brothers Juan (Jake Cuenca), Oscar (Ejay Falcon), and Franco (Joseph Marco). The ladies wore bridal gowns in different styles, with delicate lace details – a balance of sexy and elegant – carrying huge rose bouquets in red to symbolize their passion-filled romances.

A fairytale blush event

Two words come to mind when we think of Amor (Jodi Sta. Maria) and Eduardo (Ian Veneracion)’s wedding in “Pangako Sa’Yo” – blush and fresh. Amor gracefully walked down the aisle amidst a setting adorned with a delightful pink and white motif, symbolizing purity and tenderness as she met her first and great love at the altar. In Eduardo’s wedding vow, he mused on how the past years, although spent apart, shaped them into better people worthy of each other’s love. But the most shocking part of Amor and Eduardo’s D-day was Claudia (Angelica Panganiban) making her shocking comeback.

A trendy millennial wedding

Clark (James Reid) and Leah (Nadine Lustre)’s millennial church wedding in “On The Wings of Love” was full of sappy, artistic symbolism. Every detail represented a piece of their love story – from the ‘wanderlust’ theme to the use of paper bouquet, dove origami in the backdrop (reminiscent of their kismet-ushered first childhood meeting when one got the other’s pet dove), and Tatang Sol (Joel Torre)’s jeepney. It also rained poetry, with real-life spoken word artist Juan Miguel Severo, who was part of the cast, reciting a refreshing ‘hugot’ piece about love; and the couple giving us the sweetest wedding vows. Trivia: James co-wrote his vow!

The picture-perfect couple

In “Dolce Amore,” Tenten (Enrique Gil) and Serena (Liza Soberano) embarked on their journey to happily ever after with looks that gave off that vintage feel. He exuded charm in a customized Barong Tagalog while she was the epitome of unfading beauty in an elegant lace gown. What made it more memorable was the surprise appearance of Ian Veneracion as the officiating priest.

A lasting love and thoughtful touches

Andeng (Bea Alonzo)’s special day in “A Love To Last” was adorned with an abundance of roses in white, pink, and pastel hues. She looked breathtaking in a gown embellished with lace and crystals while Anton (Ian Veneracion) looked sharp in a white suit. And as Andeng walked towards ‘forever,’ Anton couldn’t contain his emotions, tearing up as he envisioned their future together.

Getting married by the sea

The shore had always been a special place for Waldo (Jericho Rosales) and Aryann (Arci Muñoz) in “Magpahanggang Wakas.” It’s where their love story started, which makes it a perfect venue to begin their future as husband and wife. Beach weddings are always ‘aww’-inducing especially when you have a love story like that of Waldo and Aryann that stood trial. The red motif and the sunset were both strong and calming like the couple’s love for each other.

Wildest wedding

Ivy (Maja Salvador) and Arnaldo (RK Bagatsing)’s iconic black in “Wildflower”! The femme fatale Ivy Aguas defied the ordinary when she rocked a black wedding dress, adding an unexpected layer of sophistication to the big event. Beyond going for an edgy style, the bride chose this color to symbolize her extreme wrath and vengeful desires towards her own groom and his family – so scandalous and stunning!

Tying the knot Filipiniana way

It’s the small details in the ceremony, plus Cardo (Coco Martin) and Alyana (Yassi Pressman)’s love story that came together to make their Filipiniana wedding in a glass dome truly beautiful. Evoking a vintage yet fresh aura, Alyana descended from a grand staircase, wearing a custom-made beaded and floral-embroidered gown. Adding stunning grace to her appearance was her choice of a delicate lace veil, which reflects Filipinas’ trait of being demure and feminine. The event was so grand that “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” main villain Joaquin (Arjo Atayde) crashed the wedding to abduct the bride.

Chic and romantic pink wedding

Andrei (Paulo Avelino) and Camille (Janine Gutierrez) put a modern-chic spin on their minimalist white wedding by adding pink details. Another thing we love about this wedding scene from “Marry Me, Marry You” is how it deviated from the usual overly dramatic ‘feels’ of a typical Pinoy teleserye wedding. The couple wasn’t tearful; rather, they were all-smiles throughout. No drama. Just plain happiness.

Dark and dreamy gothic wedding

With all the black details and mood lighting, Ramon/Albert (Christopher de Leon) and Mokang (Lovi Poe)’s wedding in the currently airing teleserye “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” has certainly made a statement. While we weren’t huge fans of their ‘love story’, we can’t help but find their dark-themed wedding so alluring. The venue felt like an old gothic banquet hall, amplifying the dark fairytale vibe as Mokang walked the black carpet. This wedding was totally edgy and unconventional!

Get all the ‘feels,’ and maybe some inspiration, from these memorable Kapamilya teleserye wedding scenes.
