It is definitely a no-brainer that cheating is wrong, especially when it’s with someone you are in a relationship with. While it is indeed contemptible and appalling, infidelity and illicit affairs are apparently regular parts of many teleseryes we’ve seen through the years as those arcs never fail to amplify the excitement of the viewers.

As we look forward on following the journey of The Broken Marriage Vow heroine Dra. Jill Ilustre (Jodi Sta. Maria) as she faces the betrayal of her beloved husband David (Zanjoe Ilustre) and their circle of friends, as well as her confrontations with the other woman Lexy Lucero (Sue Ramirez), let’s recall the infidelity-themed series released by ABS-CBN in this episode of Kapamilya Time-List!

Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo (April 16 to November 16, 2012)

Topbilled by Shaina Magdayao, Jake Cuenca, and Bangs Garcia, it follows the story of couple Sarah (Shaina) and Paul (Jake), whose marriage went on the rocks after he got involved in an extra-marital affair with Mia (Bangs) while both them work in Doha, Qatar. Much to their surprise, Sarah followed Paul and that’s when their relationship got discovered. Fueled by anger, she didn’t only confront them repeatedly, but also sent both of them to jail for fornication.

The Legal Wife (January 27 to June 13, 2014)

This primetime series tells the story of titular character Monica, astoundingly played by Angel Locsin, a career-driven family woman who found out that her beloved husband Adrian (Jericho Rosales) is having an illicit romance with her best friend Nicole (Maja Salvador). This ensued to the relentless intense confrontation scenes among them and the falling apart of Monica and Adrian’s marriage.

Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon (June 16 to October 10, 2014)

A romance melodrama starring Paulo Avelino, Bea Alonzo, and Maricar Reyes-Poon, it revolves around the story of Rose, who assumed the identity of her lawyer Emmanuelle after she died of car explosion, in order to seek justice for the death of her father and exact revenge against those who hurt her. One of the ways she executed it was by seducing her ex-husband Patrick (Paulo Avelino), who’s already married to her stepsister Sasha (Maricar Reyes). Her secret was exposed in the end and she eventually reconciled with Patrick and Sasha.

Two Wives (October 13, 2014 to March 13, 2015)

A remake of the Korean series of the same title broadcast in ABS-CBN in 2012, this follows the fight of Yvonne (Kaye Abad), a dutiful homemaker who discovered the forbidden relationship of her husband Victor (Jason Abalos) with wealthy single mom Janine (Erich Gonzales). Yvonne and Victor’s marriage got annulled, but an accident led Victor to Yvonne again as he suffered temporary amnesia, losing his memory of Janine. He died in the end and the two women were able to patch things up between them.

Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita (January 19 to October 16, 2015)

This revolves around the life of Cecilia (Vina Morales) and her family, which began to crumble after her husband Leandro (Christian Vasquez) had an affair with his assistant at work Toni (Denise Laurel). Upon learning about the pregnancy of Toni, Cecilia pushed Leandro to live with her, to which he hesitantly heeded. Despite of everything that happened, their unconditional love for one another still emerged and they’re able to fix their marriage in the end.

Tubig at Langis (February 1 to September 2, 2016)

Starred by Cristine Reyes, Zanjoe Marudo, and Isabelle Daza, this follows the love story of highschool sweethearts Irene (Cristine) and Natoy (Zanjoe), whose romance got rekindled when they’re adults and eventually got married despite the objection of his mother Conching (Vivian Velez). However, their once beautiful marriage went on the rocks after Natoy had a one-night stand with their barrio chief’s daughter Clara (Isabelle) and got her pregnant.

Her obsession with Natoy prompted Clara to connive with Conching in order to tear them apart. Clara got imprisoned after trying to murder Irene in the latter part of the series, while Natoy and Irene were able to live happily ever after together.

Pusong Ligaw (April 24, 2017 to January 12, 2018)

This follows the journey of best friends Tessa (Beauty Gonzalez) and Marga (Bianca King), whose friendship got broken after the latter had a one-night stand with the former’s boyfriend Caloy (Joem Bascon). That painful experience, along with their intense rivalry that ignited when their paths once again intertwined, further tore them apart. They were able to rekindle their friendship in the latter part of the series, to the point that Marga died after saving Tessa from being gunned down by Tessa’s deranged husband Jaime (Raymond Bagatsing).

Halik (August 13, 2018 to April 26, 2019)

Among the most controversial series ever created by ABS-CBN in recent history, this revolves around the intertwined love stories of two couples – Lino (Jericho Rosales) and Jade (Yam Concepcion) who were struggling to make ends meet as they also needed to support his mother and sister, and Jacky (Yen Santos) and Ace (Sam Milby) who were well-off but he is a serial womanizer.

Their marriages began to fall out when Jade and Ace got entangled in a scandalous affair, and things got complicated when ex-lovers Lino and Jacky slowly rekindled their feelings for each other as they got closer again. In the end, Ace and Jade got imprisoned, while Lino and Jacky began their relationship anew after their respective marriages got annulled.

Love Thy Woman (February 10 to September 11, 2020)

Yam Concepcion once again got involved in another complicated love affair, but this time, she’s the legal wife. Her character Dana was betrayed by her half-sister Jia (Kim Chiu) and her husband David (Xian Lim), who had a brief romance while she was in comatose after a terrible accident. Their one-night stand gave birth to a son, which caused a dispute among them in the latter part of the series, making things more complicated. In the end, forgiveness and love prevailed among them, with the half-sisters able to make amends and run their family company hand-in-hand. David died during an altercation with Dana’s kidnapper.

Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin (August 17, 2020 to March 19, 2021)

This follows the story of bestfriends Ellice (Iza Calzado) and Marissa (Jodi Sta. Maria) whose lives suddenly changed forever after they got involved in a homicide. Fueled by her rage towards Ellice who she thought didn’t care to her anymore after she owned up to the crime she actually committed, Marissa promised to make her feel the hardships she went through while she was in jail. One of her ways of exacting revenge was by seducing her husband Gabriel (Sam Milby), which resulted to the birth of their son.

Their incessant catfights and intense confrontations truly got the viewers hooked, which eventually ensued to tragic deaths and to Ellice getting jailed for her involvement in the murder attempts to Marissa. Forgiveness prevailed in the end, but their friendship, it would definitely take a long time for them to rebuild it.
