Jhoanna Robles shines with resilience and poise. In a recent interview on “On Cue,” she shared insights into the responsibilities she carries as a leader of the Nation’s Girl Group, BINI, a role she says isn’t difficult but calls for balance and careful decision-making.

For Jhoanna, leadership is about finding equilibrium—staying true to her principles while fostering harmony within the group.

Communication plays a pivotal role for BINI, especially in a fast-paced, demanding industry. Jhoanna pointed out that although the group often relies on a “majority wins” approach, she makes sure her voice is heard, underscoring the importance of collective understanding. Amid their packed schedules, the members adopt what they call “auto-pilot” mode, focusing on weekly tasks without overthinking. “Ang natutunan ko, ‘pag hindi mo talaga kaya, huwag mo nang pilitin,” she shared, speaking about the importance of self-care. “Kasi mas mag sa-suffer lang ‘yung group ‘pag halimbawa pinilit mo ngayon so parang mas isipin mo ‘yung pang-matagalan.”

Her journey into acting started with a brief role in “Kadenang Ginto,” even before her fateful audition with Star Hunt. She laughs, a bit embarrassed, as she recalls those early days. But the experience was a stepping stone, laying the groundwork for her eventual dream collaboration with actress Kathryn Bernardo. “Malaking part talaga ng kung sino ako ngayon si Ate Kath,” she explained. “Parang buong pagkabata ko, sa kanya talaga umikot mundo ko. Ultimo commercials niya, saulo ko.” This admiration has shaped Jhoanna’s ambitions, with Kathryn’s influence motivating her to pursue her own goals as an actress.

Her musical aspirations also remain strong. As a performer, Jhoanna is open to collaboration, especially with OPM icon Yeng Constantino. She described Yeng’s voice as “relaxed”—a quality that resonates with her.

Beyond music, Jhoanna dreams of going back to her hometown in Laguna, reconnecting with her roots, and catching up with friends. These moments are grounding for her, a chance to recharge and stay connected to the simple joys of life.

When asked about her biggest dreams, Jhoanna revealed her longing to return to her “first love”—acting. “Gusto ko gawin ‘yung first love ko, ‘yung acting po,” she expressed passionately. “Iba ‘yung ano ng puso ko sa acting po eh.” Though her heart leans toward acting, she is aware of the dedication it demands, balancing this desire with her commitment to performance.
