We may have different reactions towards his A Family Affair character Freddie Estrella, but Edu Manzano is absolutely admired in real life. Aside from being a multi-faceted television personality who never fails to amuse us with his infallible sense of humor and astound us in his every dramatic performance, he’s also a great father to his three children.

As we all know, his firstborn is versatile host-actor Luis Manzano, who he shares with veteran actress-turned-politician Vilma Santos-Recto. The I Can See Your Voice host always takes pride that his gift of gab, wit, and his often affirmed “good looks” came from his beloved dad.

Thus, it has always been a delight to see this dynamic father-and-son tandem onscreen and onstage, even on social media posts, as they exude fun, wackiness, and hilarity.

Although they are seen sharing fun moments together or bantering with each other on-and-off-cam, Edu and Luis actually have soft hearts and can also make our hearts melt with their sweetness towards one another. This was evident in the veteran actor’s interview with the gregarious momshie-hosts of Magandang Buhay in 2019, wherein he wasn’t able to hold back his emotions after his panganay expressed how he always takes pride to call him dad through a pre-recorded video.

In that video, Luis also disclosed that it was his dad who actually hindered him from entering showbiz when he was still a child and following him and ex-wife Vilma’s footsteps. This was because the veteran actor-host wanted him to finish his studies first before starting in the industry. Several years later, Luis was able to fulfill his promise to Edu as he graduated at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Institution Management.

And for all his achievements in hosting, especially having been a multi-awarded Best Male TV Host by the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) for many years, the younger Manzano considers himself a “forever student” of “the master” Edu who he idolizes. At the same time, Luis is indeed blessed enough to have a father who’s an epitome of a true gentleman in Edu, as he has someone to look up to when it comes to taking good care of the family he’s building with his now wife Jessy Mendiola.

We really can’t wait to see how the relationship of Edu and Luis are going to further grow now that they’re about to enter new chapters in their lives!
