People mostly relied on food deliveries to fulfill their cravings during a period of strict community restrictions. Employees who were in a rush or those who were in need of a safe and convenient way of commuting used transport network vehicle services (TNVS) to get around. While everyone did their best to stay at home to remain safe, driver-partners and delivery-partners continued to ferry commuters and deliver everyday essentials to help everyone in the community.

To pay tribute and appreciate these modern-day heroes – the driver-partners and delivery-partners, who continuously save the day by providing delivery services and transport, Grab Philippines celebrates their hard work and commitment in this year's 'Buwan ng Tagapaghatid.'

This month, various 5-star gifts and surprises await Grab's partners. Customers are also encouraged to rate and tip their drivers and deliverymen to show their gratitude.

Grab Philippines’ support goes beyond November as it continuously finds ways to support the everyday needs of each driver-partner and delivery-partner - through quality service training with incentives, and help empower them to achieve long-term success through meaningful training program.

The company also shared partners' stories in their social media account, so customers can grab inspiration from these hard-working individuals.

One of Grab's delivery-partners recalled how the company has helped him and his family during this difficult season.

"Nakakatulong po ang Grab sa aming pamumuhay sapagkat bukod sa mga kinikita namin sa ibinabayad ng customers at incentives mula sa Grab, ay hawak pa namin ang aming oras at mas may oras kami sa pamilya at sa pag-abot ng aking pangarap na maging isang mahusay na guro balang araw," said Marvin Wenceslao Ignacio, a delivery-partner who was behind the viral 'lugaw is essential' incident.
(Grab has helped our livelihood because aside from earning from customer and incentives from Grab, we are able to manage our own time, so we have more time for our family and for reaching my dreams of becoming a good teacher someday.)

Ignacio shared that he was motivated to take the video that accidentally went viral to share the difficulties they experienced when strict quarantine measures were imposed. As delivery-partners, their only desire is to serve people who could not get out of the house while making a living for their loved ones.

He also said that he learned to be patient with customers and the people that he interacts with as he is reminded that he upholds the company's name wherever he goes. It also helps that Grab provided them with proper training to help them deliver 5-star service in different circumstances.

"Araw-araw pag-alis ko pa lang sa aming bahay ay nakahanda po ako sa mga challenges na aking maaaring harapin sa biyahe kaya kung ano pa man ang dumating na hamon sa aking buhay ay handa ko itong harapin kasama ng aking pamilya. Lalagpasan at pagtatagumpayan ito ng bawat isa kung buo palagi ang pananalig sa Diyos," added Ignacio.
(Every day as I leave our home, I am ready to face any challenges that I may encounter so I am ready to face whatever difficulty comes my way, together with my family. Every one of us can overcome hard times as long as we have faith in God.)

Through his earnings, hard work, and dedication, Ignacio expects to graduate from his online classes next year and receive a degree in Bachelor in Secondary Education majoring in English. He shared that he wants to be an inspiration to his future students for them to work hard for their dreams as well.

Michael Nierva Olaso, a delivery-partner who was a former OFW working multiple jobs in Saudi Arabia, is simply thankful for the livelihood opportunities, support, and training that Grab has offered him. He said that his job overseas was difficult for him because homesickness hits him quite often. With his current job as a delivery-partner, he is able to see his family every day and spend time with them while still earning a living.

Olaso vlogs for charity during his deliveries. At first, he just wanted to show that simple citizens like him could also share what he has with people going hungry in the streets. As his vlog grew, he and his donors were able to donate a computer set to a school for visually impaired children – a cause very close to his heart as his youngest child also has a visual impairment.

Meanwhile, another driver-partner who also went viral is Jonnele Magadia Duran. He decided to place a sign in his motorcycle bag to indicate that he was driving carefully to deliver cake to a customer. Netizens quickly found his sign adorable and praised him for being dedicated to his job.

In another incident, Duran diligently delivered food to the second floor of the house of a person with a disability (PWD), proving that delivery-partners and driver-partners will go beyond what is expected of them to deliver 5-star service to each customer.

These are just some of the inspiring stories that come from the hundreds of deliveries booked each day. Grab appreciates and celebrates the commitment of these modern-day heroes who, through small acts of kindness and dedication, show that anyone can contribute to creating positive change in society.
