Some people say that falling in love with your best friend is the best thing ever. This sounds true for Red (Yves Flores) and Tox (Gillian Vicencio), whose relationship progressed from casual bickering and bantering to sharing a sweet, slow-burn romance.

In the final episode of 2 Good 2 Be True, you saw them share an unexpected kiss. A year later, you feel like you’re craving a ReTox relationship update, right? We can say that Red was hit by Cupid’s arrow first when he felt something different about Tox’s embrace as she welcomed him back from his overnight stay at the police station. He assumed that Tox has a huge crush on him when the truth is she was harboring special feelings for their other friend, Eloy (Daniel Padilla), who was then starting to fall for Ali (Kathryn Bernardo).

You would know you’re ‘in like’ when something has changed whenever you’re with the person. Red would feel the spark whenever they would stand next to each other, so close they almost kissed one time while peeking out of the window at Daddy Ays (Matt Evans)’s computer shop.

They started to hang out with just the two of them. The adorable duo loved food trips which when looked at through a romantic lens would appear like a date. Remember that they could make their ‘isaw’ dates look fun and sweet? And who could forget the time when they fell asleep on the computer tables and gazed at each other as they opened their eyes? What about when he smeared sugar on her face while they were eating banana cue?

Of course, the highlight of ReTox’s journey was when they pretended as lovers because Red wanted to save Tox from looking desperately jealous of Eloy and Ali’s blossoming romance. In front of their families, he confessed that he fell for her without warning. Though it was just a game, it doesn’t take a genius to notice the realness in the way he talked good things about her.

Feelings started to appear on the surface. Tox admitted that she was struggling to move on from Eloy. So, Red thought she could use their fake romance to help her forget, saying “Maghihintay ako.” Asked what he meant, he brushed it off and explained that he will wait until she feels better. In turn, when asked what they like most about each other, during a double date with Daddy Ays and his wife, Tox casually replied that Red makes her happy.
