Alvin Elchico bid TV Patrol Weekend farewell as he will become part of the daily TV Patrol newscast starting Monday, September 2.

In the Sunday episode of TV Patrol Weekend, Alvin announced that he will be embracing a new chapter in his career.

Alvin highlighted the big contribution of the weekend news program to his career.

He also said that he will be missing working with his fellow broadcaster Zen Hernandez.

As he is set to commence a new chapter in his career, he expressed his gratitude to the management and to the Filipino audiences for the trust that has been given to him.

Maraming, maraming salamat po sa tiwala," he said.

Netizens were quick to react to the announcement.

"Magaling po siyang magdeliver ng news. Modulated pa ang boses. Congrats sir Alvin. You deserve this promotion and new assignment," one netizen commented.

"Congrats po, Alvin Elchico! At good luck sa TV Patrol sa Lunes, makakasama mo sina Bernadette Sembrano, Karen Davila at kabayan Noli de Castro," another netizen posted.

The move happened following Henry Omaga-Diaz's departure from TV Patrol as he migrated to Canada.

It was on Friday, August 30 when Henry announced that he will be leaving the daily news program as he will be joining his family overseas.
