Veteran singer Gary Valenciano had a sweet message to wife Angeli Pangilinan as they celebrated their 40th anniversary on Tuesday, August 6.

On his personal social media page, Gary expressed how he felt in the four decades of their wonderful journey as a couple.

“Hon…it’s been quite a trip, quite a journey, quite a ride, quite a union, quite a partnership, quite a relationship, quite a marriage,” Gary wrote.

He went on: “We’re now 40 (years) hon😳😁🙏🏼🤍Only by God’s grace have we lasted this long and only by His grace will we have many more years together. ‘Til death do us part.”

“I know we didn’t prepare much for each other for this year but just being together…being with you, like being by the ocean this way, is what really really matters. I love you hon. Happy happy 40th anniversary to us!! ❤️❤️❤️,” he added.

Celebrity friends and fans were quick to extend their greetings to the loving husband and wife.

“Happy anniversary Tito Gary and Tita Angeli!! ❤️❤️❤️,” television personality Iya Villania commented.

Actor Marvin Augustin also greeted, “Congrats Tita Pretty & Tito Gary!!! 😍.”

“Aaaw.. kilig... Happy 40th Wedding Anniv #GarGel 😍 Super blessed knowing you and seeing you always being a blessing to a lot of people. Love u both Sir @garyvalenciano and Ma'am @angeli.valenciano u r always in my prayers 😍❤️,” a fan said.

The couple also celebrated Gary’s 60th birthday.

In a post shared by their eldest son, live concepts and creative director Paolo Valenciano, the family shared how they made sure to be together for their parents' double celebration.

“Happy 60th, pappy! And happy 40th anniv with wowa 🥹 we wouldn’t miss this for the world ❤️,” Paolo wrote.

In the post, he, his wife Samantha Godinez and their children Leia and Luciano Mikael, surprised Gary, who had just arrived at the airport to make his way to Los Angeles, California for the ASAP Natin 'To show.

Paolo also shared some snaps from Gary’s ASAP Natin ‘To stage performance in California together with his other children, performer Gabriel and singer Kiana.

“Thanks for making it Pao! And behind were #DonBelle @donny @belle_mariano,” Angeli commented, referring to a photo of their nephew, Can’t Buy Me Love star Donny Pangilinan and his onscreen partner Belle Mariano.

Angeli's sister, Maricel Pangilinan Arenas, also posted a birthday and anniversary greeting for Gary and Angeli.

“40 years of marriage by God’s love, grace, and mercy, 60 years of life and you are strong and healthy, Gary. He who has promised is faithful ✨,” she said along with an old photo of the couple.

“(We) pray the coming year may be your most amazing, even more-than-wonderful, most loving-loving, fun adventure together yet, dearest Angeli and Gary, through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ ✨💌✝️🙏🏼 love u2 24ever ❤️,” she added.

Last June 2023, the Kapamilya star got candid about his marriage while celebrating his 40th anniversary in showbiz on the Kapamilya show Magandang Buhay.

“18 years old ako nung nabuntis si Angeli. And scratching the surface pa lang ‘yun kasi ang dami pang nangyari bago naging kami,” he recalled. “It was difficult, but I think the most important thing was alam namin na para sa isa’t isa kaming dalawa ni Angeli.”

"I’m younger than her, pero wala eh,” Gary, who is six years younger than Angeli, said. “Hindi ko makita ‘yung sarili ko sa piling ng iba. We’ve been married now for 39 years.

Gary then expressed his love to his wife, saying, “She’s the reason why [my] heart is still beating. I can say sorry, more than any word I can repeat time and time again, countless times — the word sorry, for all the times that I’ve hurt you, for all the times that I’ve failed you."

"But I love you… just for you who are. I don’t need to expect anything else from you, expect for you to just continue being my wife, and continue to grow with me," he added.
