Last December 2023, viewers of the popular It’s Showtime segment “EXpecially For You” got to know the story of former couple Kyosu Guinto and Vladia "Jaja" Disuangco. Since then, the two have been busy and recently talked to PUSH in an exclusive interview on how they are working on their newfound fame and the possibility of becoming more than friends again in the future.

Since being featured on It's Showtime and being known to their fans as the love team called “KyoJa,” Kyosu and Jaja gave an update on their lives during the launch event of the WAGI (Wealth Advice for Growth and Inclusion) Financial Literacy App held in Makati City last July 31.

“Sa ngayon  gusto talaga namin magka-series or movies kasi parang dati kasi may mga workshops na kaming pinagdaanan after namin mag-EXpecially For You. Kaya naisip namin na what if mapakita naman namin yung talent namin sa pag-a-acting. Ini-enjoy lang namin yung life namin ngayon,” Jaja said.

The former couple also clarified that their status as exes has also not changed since then, even though they have been spending even more time together now doing mall shows and creating content with each other.

“Ganun pa rin. As in friends kami. Inuuna namin yung career namin. Nag-de-date kaming dalawa minsan. Napapag-usapan naman namin yung dating problema,” Jaja admitted.

Kyosu agreed that spending more time with Jaja has also made them more comfortable with each other. “More on comfy na kami na mag-gala gala together, ganun. As friends pa rin.”

During the WAGI app launch, the two learned practical financial content that Filipinos can apply to their everyday lives like basic budgeting and stock investment. Now that they are also earning as more than just online content creators, Jaja and Kyosu said they are still adjusting to how their lives have changed this year.

“We’re very happy na madaming nagkakagusto sa amin, kung paano kami mag-promote ng mga products gaya nitong apps sa mga launching events. Malaki din yung pinagbago ng buhay namin eh. Madami kasi nakakabigla kasi yung mga fans ang daming hinihingi or ang dami nilang nire-request. Kasi dati naman nung wala pang ganun, parang chill chill lang. Pero ngayon kailangan talaga na gumawa pa talaga ng content para ma-motivate pa sila or matuwa sila sa content namin. Unexpected talaga ito pero lagi namin sinasabi sa mga interview namin na happy kami sa mga nangyari,” she revealed.

Along with their newfound popularity as a trending couple, KyoJa also revealed that they also deal with their fair share of online critics questioning the authenticity of their content as a duo or whether they are just using their former relationship for clout.

“Siyempre thankful kami na na-invite kami dito sa WAGI app launch. Sobrang iba pa din yung feeling eh. Ngayon nakakatanggap na kami ng invitations like this sa mga ganitong event. Okay naman kami pero at the same time, meron din mga bashers pa din, hindi na mawawala yun. So tini-take lang namin as positive yun. Never naman namin in-expect yung ganito. Unexpected talaga,” Kyosu shared.

When it comes to handling bashers, the two admitted that they just want to focus on creating more content for their fans and spreading positive vibes.

“Wala po, hindi na lang namin pinapansin. Tapos parang kung ano yung iba-bash nila sa amin na kesyo mag-exes tapos nag-ko-content content na ngayon. Eh di mag-co-content lang kami ng mag-co-content para makita na ito yung nangyari sa amin,” Jaja added.

As a love team, the two said they have always been a fan of Kathniel but are now also big fans of JoshLia, the love team of Un/Happy For You stars Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto.

“Sa acting, gusto ko si Joshua Garcia talaga. Ano siya eh, iba yung dating niya sa akin. Once na makita ko siya, personally ko talaga nararamdaman yung acting niya talaga. Realistic talaga,” Kyosu shared.

Jaja said that she looks up to Kathryn Bernardo when it comes to acting. “Madami pa siguro kailangan ko malaman pero gusto ko talaga matutunan kung paano umarte kagaya ni Kathryn Bernardo. Yun talaga yung gusto ko, si Kathryn.”

Kyosu and Jaja's careers are both currently being handled by Asterisk Entertainment and Viva.
