Having starred in various K-Dramas in her career, Kim Ji-won dished out on how she prepares for new projects.

"I really study my script very well and get into a lot of communications and talk to my directors to get their goals for my drama," she said via interpreter in a press conference organized by PULP Live World in Manila for the Korean star's Be My One fan meeting on Saturday, August 3.

The actress also attributed the success of her preparations to the production team and actors she got to work with in her previous projects.

"I'm very blessed and lucky to have good staff, good production team, and also good partners, actors and actresses," she said.

Ji-won also discussed how she gears up for heavy scenes in her dramas.

"The preparation that I've been doing every time I am confronted with those scenes that I have to pour out a lot of my emotions, I do think a lot kung papaano ko talaga sya mapo-portray well and maca-carry out very well," she pointed out.

The actress highlighted again that her co-actors and the team behind the project do really help in her delivering the heavy scenes well.

"I am really blessed once again that I have good staff, good directors, good partners and co-actors that when I go on the scene, [I'm] ready for the shooting itself. They really do help and talk to me a lot how to carry on smooth and pour out everything that I can to make that scene happen very well," she stated.

Does she still feel pressured whenever she takes on new roles?

"I always feel pressured but I take it as a very positive input. Because of this pressure, I get to have more responsibility na I try harder to show you the best of me so it's a positive pressure naman," she said.

When asked to identify one of the most challenging roles she portrayed, Ji-won said that it was playing Hong Hae-in in her recent drama, Queen of Tears.

"When I got the script around three months prior to filming my drama, pinag-aralan ko talaga siya araw-araw. And not only that. I have to meet the directors, talk to them and when we were doing the script reading with my co-actors, I felt a lot easier to understand and relate and portray my character very well so that's what I do, I really study my script," she stated.

The actress was also asked what genre she would want to try next after doing a series of romance and romantic-comedy projects.

Ji-won said: "Of course romantic-comedy is isa sa mga favorite ko but if I could be given a chance to pick another genre, something very different, like a thriller maybe. I believe my fans will be amazed to see a different role, totally different genre [from me]."

Following the success of Queen of Tears, Ji-won has been staging fan meetings across Asia. The actress remarked that she's happy to finally meet her fans in person across the region.

"To be honest I am very amused and surprised. Alam niyo ba 'yung pen pal wherein you meet people that you are writing to? Actually it's probably the first time  [for fans] to see me and it's actually the first time [that I get to] meet my fans as if meeting finally those who I have been sending my pen pal letters too so it's really surprising. I'm very thrilled and it's so [heartwarming]," she remarked.

Ji-won staged the Manila leg of her fan meeting at the New Frontier Theater on Saturday.

"Dahil sa napakalakas ninyong pag-welcome sa akin, I am actually very excited and I'm looking forward na ito ay magiging isang napakasayang fan meeting tonight," Ji-won told the Filipino fans at the beginning of her fan meet.

The Korean actress performed songs, participated in fun games, and also answered questions from fans during the fan meet.
