A day after filing a formal complaint of molestation at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) against Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, two independent contractors from GMA who are reportedly head writers of several shows of the kapuso network, Sandro Muhlach’s father Niño Muhlach has released a statement regarding their family’s situation at the moment. 

In a report on TV Patrol, the former child actor and businessman shared his sentiments on behalf of their family. He also thanked everyone for their support and requested for prayers from the public. 

“Our family has suffered so much because of the unspeakable and vile acts done to our son. We ask for your prayers to help us muster enough strength and courage to withstand the horror of re-living the dastardly acts of the perpetrators as we seek justice through our legal system. Thank you for all your support and kind words and your gracious gift of space. We truly appreciate it,” he said. 

Last year, Niño starred with his son Sandro in the GMA Father’s Day presentation Special Pan De Daddy.

Meanwhile, the counsel representing the alleged perpetrators Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, has also issued an initial statement on behalf of her clients.

“Our clients are deeply saddened by the serious allegations hurled against them circulating on social media. And though these allegations do not mirror the true accounts of the event, we would like to reserve the right to respond in a proper forum when we receive a copy of the formal complaint.” 

Last August 1, GMA released an official statement after being informed of the incident, which occurred after the GMA Gala 2024 held last July 20 at the Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom in Pasay City.

They wrote, “GMA Network has just received a formal complaint from Sparkle artist Sandro Muhlach against two GMA independent contractors, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz. Recognizing the seriousness of the alleged incident, GMA Network had already initiated its own investigation even before receiving the formal complaint. Respecting Sandro’s request for confidentiality, the investigating body will withhold all details of the formal investigation until its conclusion. The Network assures the public and all stakeholders of its commitment to conducting this investigation with the highest standards of fairness and impartiality.”

GMA Network reported that they are currently still in the process of investigating the issue.
