Cross-country film Under Parallel Skies has reached 13 countries and territories for its theatrical release.

To date, the movie starring Thai actor Win Metawin and Kapamilya star Janella Salvador has been released in cinemas in the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, Hong Kong, UAE, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia, and Brunei. It is set to be released in Japan in September.

Executive producer and 28 Squared Studios CEO Richard Juan remarked that he feels grateful and humbled about the feat that Under Parallel Skies has achieved.

"As this is our first film, having Under Parallel Skies distributed to 13 countries and territories is a huge achievement for us. To be among the Philippine productions that got to reach so many international markets is truly a special moment for us. I am filled with gratitude," he said in an interview with PUSH.

He went on: "It also feels incredibly rewarding to see our hard work resonate with audiences worldwide and to know that our story is connecting with people across different cultures."

When asked why he thinks the movie was able to resonate among audiences in different markets, he replied: "I believe the film’s success in reaching diverse audiences is due to its universal themes - love, identity, and the human experience - that everyone can relate to, regardless of where they’re from."

The actor and producer further explained: "The authenticity of the story and the emotions it conveys have a universal appeal. The visual storytelling of our director, Sigrid Bernardo, and the strong performances of our lead actors, Win Metawin and Janella Salvador, also helped it stand out internationally."

Richard remarked that he is also proud to be representing Filipino creatives in the regional scene.

"It’s proof that our stories and creative visions from the Philippines can resonate on a global scale," he highlighted.

"Seeing a Filipino production embraced by audiences in so many countries is incredibly validating. It shows that our unique perspective has a place in the international film industry, and it fills me with pride to represent the talent and creativity of the Philippines on such a large stage."

On what's next for 28 Squared Studios, the film producer teased: "We have an exciting lineup of projects on our slate, and I’m really looking forward to sharing them with the world. Our focus is on creating content that resonates globally, and we’re already working on several international projects that push boundaries and explore new storytelling possibilities. We can’t wait to see where this journey takes us next!"
