Sophia Angela Asistio, daughter of actress Nadia Montenegro and actor Baron Geisler, celebrated her 18th birthday with a Hollywood glam-themed debut party on August 18 at the Celebrity Sports Plaza in Quezon City.

The intimate gathering was attended by close family members, friends, and notable personalities from the entertainment industry.

Sophia, born on August 13, 2006, marked her entry into adulthood in style, wearing two different gowns for the occasion. She started the evening in a purple off-shoulder ball gown and later changed into a red figure-hugging dress with a cape. The debutante was joined by her mother, Nadia, and her siblings: Ysha, Ynna, Alyanna, Yssa, Anykka, and Sam.

Among the prominent guests at the event were veteran actress Maricel Soriano and GMA-7’s Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group, Annette Gozon-Valdes, who attended with her husband, Shintaro Valdes.

The celebration was captured and shared on social media, with Nice Print Photo and Nadia Montenegro posting photos from the debut on August 19, captioned “Sophia Asistio 18th.”

In a July interview with veteran host Boy Abunda on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Nadia confirmed that Baron is Sophia’s biological father.

The actress revealed that Sophia has always known about her parentage. Nadia also shared that her late partner, Boy Asistio, was aware of the situation and had requested that the truth be kept from Sophia until after his passing to ensure her perception of him remained unchanged.

Nadia said in the interview, “Ayaw niyang magbago tingin ni Sophia sa kaniya.” 

She added, “All these years, I never lied. If someone approached me and asked me, I would’ve answered. But nobody did.”

Sophia, who has a passion for singing and dancing, is the youngest of Nadia’s children. The celebration was a significant milestone for the family, with Sophia’s sister, actress Ynna Asistio, sharing a video from the event captured by their older half-sister, Abby Asistio on Instagram.

The Hollywood glam-themed debut was a memorable event for Sophia and her family, marking her transition into adulthood surrounded by the people who matter most to her.
