Seasoned actress Maricel Soriano shared what she loved about her character in the upcoming star-studded series, Lavender Fields.

During the show’s media junket, Maricel told PUSH how she admired how Aster Fields was a savior to Jodi Sta. Maria’s character, Lavender.

“Hindi siya judgmental. Willing siyang makinig,” she said of her character.

The actress also shared how she enjoyed filming with her co-stars and the production team, who she refers to as her “classmates” on her new Kapamilya show.

“Ang saya-saya ng set namin. Masayang-masaya kami talaga. Sobra nga e,” she shared.

Even when their day starts early, they enjoy each other’s company. Maricel also took note of the good relationships among the cast members.

“Maaga call time namin. Walang mamaldita doon. Walang gano'n. Pare-pareho kaming lahat.  Kaya, kumbaga parang, ‘Oh, oh, classmate, andito ka pala.’ Yung gano'n,” she shared of their interactions.

Besides her charismatic role, Maricel also reacted to fans' excitement at seeing her work again with actors Albert Martinez and Edu Manzano. Albert used to be her loveteam, while Edu was her ex-husband.

“Nalilito ako. Pero kasi nakakatawa sila. Dahil ‘pag meron silang gusto at napagbigyan mo, nako, hindi mo mamabayaran ang kaligayahan sa puso nila,” Maricel said, referring to her and Albert’s ‘MarBert’ fans. “Sobra.

Maricel also expressed that there were no awkward moments working with Edu, as they have remained good friends despite parting ways in 1991.

Yung mga gano'n,” she described her relationship with Edu. “Kasi nga, magkaibigan kami.”

Being in the industry for decades, Maricel candidly shared with PUSH that there are still projects she is looking forward to being part of in the future.

“Basta meron pa rin akong gustong gawin. ‘Yun na importante, may gusto pa. Eh mahirap ‘yung wala na, ‘di ba? At least meron pa,” she remarked.

She admitted that, at this point in her career, she now exercises the right to choose her projects, preferring those that viewers can easily enjoy and relate to.

“Mapili ako eh. Gusto ko ‘yung makaka-relate sila,” she said.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Maricel shared what made her say yes to doing another series under Dreamscape Entertainment.

"Because it’s different, hindi siya 'yung tipikal," she said.

She also previously teased what fans and viewers can anticipate in the star-studded new series.

“Nakakatakot ‘yan,” she expressed. “May mga big scenes, halimbawa namin ni Edu, or ni Albert, or kami ni Jodi. Doon ako very attentive.”
