Kapamilya comedy star Vice Ganda traveled to Taiwan as part of the production for the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival entry And The Breadwinner Is.

Film outfit Star Cinema shared the snapshots of the comedian at the Manila airport before his flight to Taiwan.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Vice expressed his excitement about the film saying: "Super excited, ‘di na ko nakakatulog. Tuwing may shooting, ‘di ako nakakatulog [kasi] isip ako ng isip. Sobrang excited. Wala akong bukambibig kundi ito. Tuwing may makaka-kwentuhan ako, tuwing may makakausap ako, [at] tuwing may nagtatanong."

The It's Showtime host shared that his upcoming movie is far different from his previous films.

"Malaking-malaki ang pagkakaiba nito. Iba 'yung atake ni Jun Lana (director). Iba siya. Malayong-malayo siya [sa mga previous films ko] pero it’s gonna be an amazing surprise. Hindi talaga siya 'yung katulad nung mga nagawa ko nang pelikula," he stated.

The movie started production in Manila on June 28. Vice headlines the movie with Eugene Domingo.

It was in April when Vice announced that he would be working with Jun for his comeback movie.

"First time naming magsasama and ang saya-saya ko talaga. Highlight ito ng career ko hindi lang this year, pero ng movie career ko. Isa ito sa pinakamalalaking highlights," Vice said at a media conference of the film.

The comedian highlighted what he aspires to achieve beyond box-office success with this film.

"Nagkaroon na ako ng fair share sa box office kahit paano. Gusto ko magkaroon sa filmography ko 'yung inilaban sa international film festival. Dream ko ‘to. I have been praying for a movie na may internal value," he said.

As to what fans can expect from the film, director Jun hinted: "It is everything na inaantay ng mga tao sa isang pelikula ni Vice, ‘yung nakakatawa at riot na comedy and so much more. Kung nakita natin si Vice magpatawa, makikita rin natin siya mangurot ng mga puso."

And The Breadwinner Is marks the first film collaboration between Star Cinema and The IdeaFirst Company.
