ODDATELIER, the record label of BLACKPINK member Jennie, just released an apology statement over the recent controversy their artist got involved in. Earlier this month, netizens noticed that Jennie was vaping in one of the vlogs that she posted on her YouTube account.

Fans and other netizens shared their various reactions as the smoke Jennie exhaled went towards the staff member who was doing her makeup then. The footage has since been deleted from her vlog as of this writing.

Following the backlash their artist received on social media, ODDATELIER immediately went on their official accounts to release an apology statement on behalf of the BLACKPINK member.

“Hello. This is OA Entertainment. We sincerely apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable with Jennie’s actions in the content released on July 2,” ODDATELIER said in the statement.

The agency assured everyone–– both fans and casual followers of the South Korean superstar–– that she has since learned from her mistake. Jennie has also sent her personal apologies to everyone affected by her vaping incident.

“Jennie acknowledges and deeply regrets her mistake of vaping indoors and causing inconvenience to the staff. Jennie has personally apologized to all the staff on-site who may have been affected.

“We apologize to her fans who have been disappointed through this incident. We hope to prevent this from reoccurring in the future,” the statement ended.

Most of the fans of Jennie have accepted the apology and expressed how happy they are that the singer took accountability for her actions. Some netizens maintained that she should refrain from smoking as she is a singer.

“Thank you for addressing this matter promptly. We hope that you will be more open to fans’ feedback as well. We are here to support Jennie and we can only maximize these efforts with effective communication and promotion,” a fan account shared.

“We appreciate you addressing the situation. Please take care of yourself and don’t forget that we rubies are always here to support you. We love you,” another fan added.

ODDATELIER was established after Jennie left BLACKPINK’s music label, YG Entertainment, last year when her contract expired. YG will still continue to manage BLACKPINK's activities as a group.
