Former Goin' Bulilit star Trina Legaspi, popularly known as Hopia, opened up about her experience as a first-time mom.

In an interview with Bernadette Sembrano in her latest vlog, Trina shared how hands-on she is when it comes to taking care of her daughter Kaela, especially during her formative years.

"Full-time mom talaga [ako]... Nakakatuwa kapag nakita mo siyang lumaki. Gusto ko lahat ng milestones nandun ako."

Kaela is Trina's first child with her husband Ryan Jarina.

The former child star admitted that being a first-time parent was not an easy journey.

"Bilang first-time parents rollercoaster siya of emotions parang nung newborn [pa siya], everyday ako umiiyak... It is more of ako, 'yung hormones ko all over the place, and ngayong eventually nung naranasan namin 'yung post-partum, naka-adjust-adjust na ganyan and natutuwa kami kapag nakikita siyang lumaki and kami rin naggo-grow kami," she relayed.

Trina admitted that she and her husband were planning to have a baby one year after their marriage but she got pregnant five months into their marriage. She admitted that she initially doubted herself if she was ready to become a parent.

"Nung una at least one year [after our wedding] kasi gusto namin ma-enjoy 'yung isa't isa, 'yun after five months I got pregnant. Una na-shock ako. Ang weird nung naramdaman ko kasi dapat happy ako kasi blessing siya eh. Pero parang na-sad ako, parang nagkakaroon ako ng worries na kaya ko bang maging isang ina? Am I mature enough? I am mentally prepared for this na may bubuhaying bata, na may responsibility na?"

Later on, she realized that having Kaela early into their marriage was perfect timing after she learned that she has a health condition.

"Ngayon na I have Kaela, talagang perfect time siya for us to have a baby kasi recently nga nagkaroon ako ng executive checkup and nalaman ko na I have PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) pala. Sabi ng OBGYN, 'Ah swerte pala kasi nagka-baby agad.' So sabi ko talagang right time talaga siya ni Lord. Okay na rin na nandyan na si Kaela, sobrang blessing talaga siya for us," Trina relayed.

She added: "Looking back ano talaga right time talaga na ma-experience ko itong season na ito."

Trina remarked that she is very grateful to God for letting her experience becoming a mother.

"Simula palang nung nanganak pa lang ako, sobrang thankful ako kay Lord na na-experience ko siya. Actually kahit masakit manganak... Thank you Lord I get to experience this. Galing siya sa akin, nakabuo ako ng life. Hanggang ngayon thankful ako kay Lord na na-experience ko ito," she stated.

Hope highlighted that the love she feels towards her daughter is truly unconditional.

"Parang God's love siya, parang how God loves 'yung anak niya. Ganun 'yung naramdaman ko. Ito maliit pa lang ito, what more 'yung pagmamahal ng Lord, ganun 'yung feeling," she remarked.

Trina gave birth to Kaela in March 2023.

"8 hours of labor and 1 hour of pushing, thank you Lord for giving me the strength!! 🙏🏻 #normaldelivery. Welcome to the world, Baby Kaela! 💕" she posted on her Instagram page in May of last year.

She went on: "Parang nag-slow mo ‘nung narinig ko na iyak niya, sobrang surreal, ‘di ko mapigilan umiyak. 😭 You are worth all the pain our baby girl. Daddy and I love you so much! 😘"
