Canadian-born and now Filipino citizen Kyle "Kulas" Jennermann tied the knot with his Filipina partner, Catherine Diquit, or Therine, last Saturday, July 20.

The BecomingFilipino content creator shared his happiness at finally marrying the love of his life.

“This moment, kneeling on the altar, with rings on our finger, and marriage contract in hands... what a feeling! It has been an incredible 8 year journey for us... but truly this is a journey that has only just begun,” he said.

Kyle also recalled the time when their wedding photographer asked the couple to show them their wedding rings.

“It filled me with joy. Just holding the marriage certificate... in the end, I have to say I enjoyed the process. Gathering the paperwork, filing for the contract, having a seminar. In the end, it just validated that this was exactly where I wanted to be. Side by side, leaping into forever... with the one I love,” he added.

The content creator then announced that he will be sharing more stories about their wedding in the following weeks but will first savor the time that he and Christine are now officially husband and wife.

“Over this next week or two, I plan on sharing many stories, many thank you’s, and many beautiful moments that happened on July 20th, 2024. But before that, let me share this photo… The first moment we became Husband and Wife. Officially,” he remarked.

In separate posts, Kyle also shared the stories of the wedding outfits he and his wife wore in their Filipiniana-themed wedding.

“THERINE’S INCREDIBLE WEDDING GOWN… As I type this, I actually get a little bit emotional. I will never forget the moment I first saw her walking down the aisle. Not only did Therine dream of this moment, but I know, she always dreamed of wearing a @francislibiranbridal. And what an incredible work of Filipino art her wedding gown was,” Kyle explained as he showed some snaps of his wife wearing Filipino designer Francis Libiran’s wedding gown.

For his wedding barong, Kyle revealed that the design was “a tribute to what has shaped his life”.

“I knew from the moment we got engaged, that I would wear a barong for my wedding. I can’t thank @francislibiran enough for creating something I will cherish forever! If you look closely, you will see a Canadian maple leaf at the center of each embroidered design. It is wrapped in a headband and radiating out with a sun and stars... I grew up a Canadian and that will always be within me. But now it is the Philippines radiating out in my life. This barong is me, and is what I am becoming. Thank you so much Francis for creating this,” he explained.

He went on: “No words really. Just so grateful to have this barong a part of my wedding day, and my life.”

Kyle also shared a sweet conversation he and his parents had regarding what they would be wearing on the joyous occasion.

“Allow me to appreciate my mom and dad rocking their first traditional Filipino clothes. I am tearing up typing this right now... because I am reflecting on the day. This was such a beautiful moment for me. It was just so freaking cool seeing my parents connect with my life here like this… No words again. LOVE YOU MOM AND DAD!” Kyle said.
