Herlene Budol personally thanked Barbie Forteza for helping her when she tripped onstage at the GMA Gala.

In a video uploaded on her Instagram page, Herlene can be seen visiting Barbie backstage during the latter's taping for GMA's Family Feud to extend her gratitude.

"Thank you, Ate.... Actually ate nung nandun ako, nung nadapa ako, hindi ko napansin kung sino na 'yung mga tumulong. Nakita ko na lang 'yung sa video, ang daming nagta-tag sa akin na parang nandoon ka nga raw, to the rescue ka," Herlene told Barbie.

She added: "Ang laki-laki ng gamit mong dala-dala. Kaya maraming-maraming salamat."

"Walang problema, walang anuman. Mabuti na 'yung okay ka. Basta okay ka, ayun naman 'yung importante," Barbie told Herlene.

In an interview with GMA News, Herlene was still in awe over how Barbie came to her rescue despite wearing a big gown.

"Personal akong nagpapasalamat kay ate Barbie kasi to the resue 'yung little princess talaga. Grabe ang laki-laki ng gown niya, tinakbo niya," Herlene recounted.

Barbie then said: "Hindi ko rin maintindihan kung bakit ko rin nagawa 'yun [na tumakbo] na hindi rin nadadapa rin."

The Maria Clara at Ibarra star explained that when she saw Herlene fall down onstage, she immediately rushed to her to help her get back on her feet.

"Nung nakita ko kasi siyang bumagsak, talagang gusto ko lang matulungan siya, na ma-awra niya nang maayos 'yung damit niya," she recounted.

Barbie was all praises for Herlene for choosing to walk on the stage again following the incident, saying: "Pero ang galing, naka-take two ka dun, ang galing nung kanyang final walk." 

Herlene recalled: "[Sabi ko sa sarili ko], 'Hindi Herlene, kesa magpa-bebe ka, tumayo [ka].' Kinausap ko 'yung self ko ba."

Herlene and Barbie attended the GMA Gala on Saturday, July 20 where the stars of GMA network and other celebrity guests gathered for a night of celebration. 

A day after the gala, Herlene took to social media to reflect on the incident that happened on stage. 

"Sa buhay kapag nadapa ka, bumangon ka. Hangga't may buhay, may pag-asa. Walang susuko para sa pamilya," she posted on social media platform X.  

The actress-host added: "Pag [nadapa hindi] pinagtatawanan. Accident always [happens]! Sa palagay nyo ba gusto ko madapa? Lahat ng tao nadadapa, naaksidente, ang importante safe at [di] nasugatan. #GMAGala2024."
