Dubbed as the Pambansang Host, Luis Manzano took a trip down memory lane and talked about his hosting career in his more than two decades in the industry.

In his recently uploaded vlog, Luis recalled his first journey as a VJ on the music channel MYX to his most recent Kapamilya game show, Rainbow Rumble.

“Looking back, nasa 20 plus years na ako sa industriya and most of those 23-plus years, hosting yung ginagawa ko from talent, reality, game show, variety, showbiz-oriented talk show, wow! Halos lahat nagawa ko na rin,” Luis said.

The seasoned television personality first shared his experience being a MYX VJ and a mainstay host for the Kapamilya variety show ASAP.

“(Sa MYX) doon nagsimula ang lahat. Noong nag-MYX ako, I think 2002 or 2003… Doon ako natuto talaga… very special mention talaga sa akin ang MYX,” he said.

“(Sa) ASAP ang pinaka mainstream ko. Unang-unang pinakamainstream ko sa ABS-CBN at kasama pa noon si Daddy… Doon ako una natuto ng variety show. Iba kasi yung demand ng VJ, iba kasi yung demand ng variety show. Unfortunately para sa inyo, nag-perform din ako doon and doon din nabuo yung Kanto Boys… More importantly, doon nabuo ang napakaraming friendship namin sa ASAP. Kaya marami akong kaibigan sa industriya,” he added.

Luis also shared his first noontime experience when he served as a substitute host for more than three months for Willie Revillame’s former show Wowowee on ABS-CBN.

“Doon ko narealize kung ano yung naeenjoy ko sa game show. Doon ako na-in love sa game show. Doon ako na-in love sa energy ng noontime… Naramdaman ko and doon ko na-realize na ang dream ko bilang isang host or isang game show host ay magkaroon ng noontime show or kaya magkakaroon ng show na sariling amin,” Luis recalled.

He also revealed that he was supposed to host GMA 7’s StarStruck, with his then partner, Nancy Castiglione. However, Luis was offered to be the host for ABS-CBN’s Star Circle Quest, which he accepted as his first talent reality show.

He also shared his journey doing QPids with Anne Curtis, his first time hosting Pinoy Big Brother, his challenging experience on showbiz talk show, E Live (Entertainment Live), his first gag show Laugh Out Loud with cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao, being part of The Voice of the Philippines' roster of hosts and Celebrity Playtime, which he wanted to have another season if given a chance.

Luis then shared his thoughts when he became the host of local franchises of Deal or No Deal and Minute To Win It.

“Ito yung first foray ko sa ganitong klase ng game show… Ito yung parang first biggest game show na ibinigay sa akin ng ABS-CBN and ito nga iyong nagpabago ng image ko. To be part of a franchise that big, doon nagsimula ang lahat… Iba yung training and iba yung experience ng Deal or No Deal na up until now hinahanap pa rin sa akin,” he remarked on Deal or No Deal.

About Minute To Win It, he said. “Feeling ko, isa ito sa mga highlights na kahit matagal na ako sa TV, isa ito sa mga naging nagpa-household name sa akin… Ito yung nagpatatak sa akin as a host.”

Luis also remembered his time as ABS-CBN's Family Feud host, saying, “Minahal ko itong show na ito. Itong Family Feud, Masarap kasi kapag fan ka ng show tapos ikaw gagawa ng show.”

I Can See Your Voice is also one of his most beloved projects, which he shares with the "sing-vestigators" who show good camaraderie.

“Minahal ko itong show na ito lalong lalo na yung first season,” he said. “Hindi namin alam na magiging ganoon kahit yung I Can See Your Voice lalo na sa OFWs.”

Luis then expressed how, in a short time, It’s Your Lucky Day became a big fulfillment of his ultimate goal as a host.

“(Sa It's Your Lucky Day), iniyakan ko ito. Twelve days… Kaya ako umiyak… dahil siguro sa sobrang biglaan binuhos namin lahat ang kaya naming gawin sa It’s Your Lucky Day at sabi ko nga babalikan ko, ang dream ko talaga, noontime (show) na original,” he said.

“It was a dream come true para sa akin and para sa aming lahat,” he continued.

Luis is currently the host of Rainbow Rumble, which airs every weekend.

“Lahat nang iyan, ang rank ko 10 out of 10… Lahat ng iyan nakapag contribute kung sino man ako sa ngayon… Lahat yan masaya, lahat yan may up moment, lahat yan  may down moment… I think everything leads you were you supposed to be… It forms you. It’s a learning process,” he said.

“After 23, 25 years in the industry, I’m still learning, and you’re part of that experience. Lahat ng mga kasama ko since Day 1 sa MYX up until now sa Rainbow Rumble, maraming salamat sa inyo,” he added.
