Ina Raymundo shared why she chose to settle down with a non-showbiz partner.

"Kasi 'pag non-showbiz mayroon kayong ibang pag-uusapan hindi lang about taping, about shooting, anong gagamitin mong skincare. Gusto ko talaga may kausap ako na nakaka-stimulate... I've always [been] attracted to smart men," she said in an interview with Karen Davila.

She added that she's also the jealous type so she could not handle seeing her partner being paired with another person in a project. "Selosa ako, hindi ko kaya na 'yung jowa ko may kahalikan sa screen."

Ina first met her husband Brian Poturnak when she was 24 years old.

When asked how she knew that Brian was the one, she replied: "Unang-una iba 'yung naging pattern ko with him kasi before if meron akong nagustuhan, I know right away na he's going to be my boyfriend so nagfi-fizzle agad. With him kasi when I met him hindi ko in-expect na magiging boyfriend ko siya, what more maging asawa."

Ina relayed that they started as friends and they became phone pals for a year. After one year, they started to go on dates.

Ina relayed that iniitially, she hesitated to go on a date with him.

"After almost one year of talking, he was asking me to go out and I would always cancel at the last minute," she recalled.

According to Ina, it was her friend turned matchmaker, who encouraged her to go out with Brian, attesting how good of a man the latter is.

"Mula nung nag-date kami the rest is history, inseparable na kami and in love," she stated.

Ina and Brian got married on December 9, 2022. They now have five children.

For Ina, success means having "a healthy, beautiful family na we love each other, we are bonded, we are connected, and we also have faith in God. 'Yun din ang number one na tinuturo ko sa mga anak ko na mag-pray."

Ina and Brian celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary last December 2023.

In the same interview, Ina was asked how she feels about the surge in her popularity even after taking a break from showbiz to focus on her family.

"Sa totoo lang, I am just going with the flow. I am not planning anything, you know me I am so laidback. I realized na there are times na nasa taas ka and mas may times na nasa baba ka so tanggap ko 'yun sa buhay ko," she remarked.

In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan Philippines, the actress remarked that she is thankful that she got the opportunity to return to acting in her 40s. Ina recently starred in the primetime series Can't Buy Me Love.

“I feel grateful, blessed that this happened to me. Now that I have kids, I appreciate work more, I appreciate acting more. Because I feel that I have worked harder this time than before, na parang pinagdaanan ko uli 'yung pagiging from the bottom,” she said in the magazine interview.

Ina said that she is looking forward to doing more acting projects in the future.

"I want the producers to know that I am more committed to work. I hope that they will invest in a middle-ager. I know [a] love team is their favorite thing and I'm happy for those love teams because they really work hard. But I think you should also invest in middle-aged actors. Make a movie for us to showcase our experience and talent," she stated.
