From being a Goin’ Bulilit alumni to one of the most in demand rising young actors, Harvey Bautista has shown his passion for acting. He is currently in three different shows airing on Kapamilya primetime roster.

In an interview during Zoomers Season 2 media conference on Monday, July 1, Harvey shared how he was able to portray different roles on the three Kapamilya shows.

“Luckily, for each show that I’m a part of, very distinct naman yung character. Mayroong isang gusto maging director now he’s still learning himself emotionally, may isang obsessed na stalker na halos psychopath na, and may isang inaapi lang ng frat. So, those are all very different and distinct naman,” he told the press.

Harvey is the newest addition to the Kapamilya show High Street, where he plays Wesley, an obsessed stalker of Andrea Brillantes’s character Sky. 

He is also a part of the new Kapamilya show Pamilya Sagrado as Percy De Leon, one of the students who knows what really happened in the death of JC Alcantara’s Roland Salvacion and its connection to the Sagrado family’s beloved fraternity brotherhood.

Now that he has reprised his role as Jiggs in the second season of Kapamilya youth-oriented show Zoomers that aired last Monday, Harvey expressed how he worked hard to understand his characters to show distinctions and how helpful it is working with a variety of different sets of artists and production team. 

“But siyempre there are times na, there was this week na were I had shot all three shows all in one week tapos medyo doon ako nahirapan i-cage na minsan lumalabas si Jiggs dito kay Wesley or lumalabas si Wesley kay Jiggs or vice versa. It’s a matter of understanding yung character mo,” Harvey said.

He added, “Malaking tulong din yung environment on set kasi syempre kada production iba-iba yung kasama mong crew and cast… Malaking tulong din kapag binababad ko iyong sarili ko each production… Malaking tulong din yung rest days between tapings… It wasn’t too hard to adjust, to getting back to the character.”

Besides his individual acting stints, Harvey also built good chemistry with his co-star and onscreen partner, Criza Taa. He expressed how important their team up, CrizVey, is in showing their potential as actors.

“For me, CrizVey, it’s a platform for both of us. Not just in Zoomers, but even outside Zoomers kasi it’s a platform for us to even connect to more people… I think it’s an opportunity for us to get our names out there as a love team and as individuals,” Harvey said.

Criza added, “Sobrang importante po ng tandem namin… We have strong connection or bond so parang it’s easier sa amin na magtrabaho together.”

Meanwhile, Criza said that their bond beyond work helped them in making their pairing more natural on screen.

“The chemistry doing the show nandoon na po talaga siya and I say na may mga times din na nadadala kami sa eksena and mas naging comfortable po kami sa friendship namin,” Criza said, when asked how they made a good team up.

She went on: “May mga times na hindi na namin pinaguusapan. It just flows naturally kung paano namin gagawin yung scene.”

“It’s important to connect also in real life para maipakita niyo talaga sa scene kung ano yung dapat ibigay sa eksena,” she remarked.
