Award-winning Filipino Broadway legend Lea Salonga is set to have her own was figure at Madame Tussauds Singapore.

"Shining, Shimmering, Splendid! The legendary Lea Salonga will have her very own wax figure in #MadameTussaudsSG! Are you as excited as we are?" the wax museum announced on Wednesday, June 5.

Celebrity friends of Lea and fans online were quick to express their excitement over this new milestone in Lea's journey in the industry. 

"Amazingly proud of you my dear!" Martin Nievera said.

"Congratulations coach 😘 mahal kita ❤️🥰 we are so proud of you icon 🥳 love you," Vina Morales said.

"Ms. Lea you truly deserve this😍," one fan commented.

In a press release, Madame Tussauds remarked that they are thrilled to have the wax figure of the singer displayed at their museum.

“We are truly excited and honoured to have Lea's wax figure. Madame Tussauds has always been about showcasing remarkable talent and bringing the audience closer to them through lifelike wax figures," said Elaine Quek, Head of Sales and Marketing at Madame Tussauds Singapore.

She added: "We know a lot of people all over the world are excited to see Lea Salonga in wax. The whole Filipino community globally is beaming with pride, that’s why we know we had to reach out to her and make it happen here."

Lea was equally excited when she learned that she will be part of Madame Tussauds Singapore. 

"When my manager said this is happening, that Madame Tussauds is interested in making a wax figure of me, it was an absolute honor and privilege to be asked. It’s fantastic!" she said.

Lea is the fifth Filipino to have her wax figure at Madame Tussauds following Catriona Gray, Pia Wurtzbach, Anne Curtis, and Manny Pacquiao.

Meanwhile, Lea will be on tour in the UK this month.

The singer will stage her "Stage, Screen & Everything in Between!" concert in different parts of the UK this June including a special return to London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane where it all began for Lea 34 years ago with Miss Saigon.
