Mark Leviste has seemingly been giving hints on what he plans on doing next year.

He recently posted photos of himself with Batangas Governor Hermilando “Dodo” Mandanas with the caption, “sealed with a handshake.”

Mark, who is the incumbent Vice Governor of the province, might be running again for a top spot as Gov. Mandanas is on his last term.

Gov. Mandanas was in the news last May after he married lawyer Angelica Chua, who is nearly 50 years younger than the politician. The wedding became a hot topic on social media as people criticized the huge age gap.

For his part, Mark is also used to having his own liaisons closely scrutinized. Mark has had a close relationship with Queen of All Media Kris Aquino for some years now. Given how Kris has been a news staple for more than three decades, his interactions with her is a subject of speculation and curiosity for many.

Mark has proven himself a steady source of support for the actress-host who has been in the US since 2022 to seek treatment for her autoimmune diseases. Kris has been sharing details of her medical issues on social media and Mark appears to be by her side through every major development and hurdle.

However, things haven’t been always smooth-sailing. With Kris being in the US while Mark attends to his duties in the Philippines, the long distance took its toll on their romance and led to Kris calling things off with Mark.

A post she made in July 2023 further explained her reasons for the split.

“Marc (yes it’s with a C) @markleviste is leaving to go home to fulfill his obligations to his Batangas constituents. Nobody I’ve ever been in a relationship with has ever given me as much love & encouragement. He wasn’t only my boyfriend, he became my best friend and confidante, talagang maaasahan. The usage of WAS is correct.”

Kris elaborated, “I gave you a cleansed version of why I ended my relationship with Marc. I didn’t lie when I said a long distance relationship is difficult. BUT I saw he has many dreams left to fulfill and many obligations to the people who gave him their vote. Sadly, I’m in the battle of my life precisely because I’m doing all I can to save my life because my 2 sons still need me.”

After underscoring his obligations to his constituents, Kris admitted that, “I’m realistic enough that Marc has a life beyond trying to help take care of me.”

While the romance has seemingly fizzled out, Mark has remained steadfast by the actress-host’s side, supporting her as she faces her medical challenges. He even issues health updates, addresses malicious rumors, and helps arrange her reunions with friends on her behalf.

Their kids from their previous relationships seem to be getting along well, too. Mark thanked Kris for taking care of his son, C2, when the latter was in the US last August 2023. He shared photos of his son, Kris’s sons Josh and Bimby, and their friends as they went to visit Disneyland.

“Presently, C2 lives with [Kris] and the boys in Orange County, while I’m back in the [Philippines]. According to TK (Tita Kris) they’ve been developing a tight bond and making special memories everyday,” he said.

In a previous interview with PUSH, he even said that he was spending Christmas, his birthday (December 25), and New Years in Los Angeles with Kris and their respective kids.

While they might not be “officially” together, it's apparent that there are still strong ties between them.

As to what the future may hold, Mark admitted that Kris still has a very significant place in his life. “Kris inspires me. She continues to motivate me in my work as a public servant. Politics is not new to her,” he explained.

He even boldly stated, “I see myself spending the rest of my life with her and taking care of her. I am very sure the people of Batangas are excited to have Kris as a future First Lady if given the chance.”

“My children and family love Kris and her sons,” he reiterated. “We adore them and we are looking forward to be this one big, happy family one day.”
