“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Rosalio 'Yoyong' D. Martires. He peacefully joined our Creator yesterday, June 18, 2024. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” the family said in a post.

As per reports, the wake of the former athlete will be at the Evergreen Chapels and Crematory in Maybunga, Pasig City and will be available for public viewing at Chapels C and D on June 19. He will be laid to rest at the Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City.

Yoyong started his career as part of the Manila Industrial and Commercial and Athletic Association (MICAA) before playing for the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) under San Miguel Beermen for 10 years.
