The barong has a detachable sling-style armor which features yellow sun rays of the Philippine flag set against a backdrop of red and blue. He also incorporated the colors of France's national flag to the sling to pay tribute to the host country of this year's Olympics.

"The name 'Sinag' translates to 'Rays of the Sun,' symbolizing hope and optimism. This design embodies the spirit and pride of the Filipino people," Francis remarked.

"The detailing [of 'Sinag'] is very meticulous. The separation of the blue and red needs to be precise and visible from afar. This level of detail ensures that our athletes will be recognized as representatives of the Philippines, even from a distance," Francis highlighted.

On why he chose barong as the attire of the national team, the designer replied: "What better way to represent the Philippines on an international stage than with our very own Barong Pilipino? The year 2024 marks the 100th anniversary of the Philippines' participation in the Olympic Games, and our athletes are our modern-day heroes. It was crucial for me to ensure that they shine and stand out on the opening day."
