Singer Kiana Valenciano, who also goes by the stage name Kiana V, released another bop song as she continues to make waves in the music industry.

Last April 26, Kiana dropped her new dance single “Sweet Release” that showcases her unique vocal stylings and songwriting ability with her co-songwriters Rosemarie Tan and Philippe dela Pena.

The song, which was produced by De’La, has a catchy and irresistible rhythm that will surely hook listeners and make them sway on the dance floor.

As per Kiana, the song is very deeply personal as it came from her own experience. She also dedicated her song to her best friend.

In an interview with the singer at an event for an international clothing brand in Makati, she shared some insights into the evolution of her sound.

“I’ve started writing, and some of my favorite songs are in Tagalog,” Kiana said, revealing that she has been exploring writing Tagalog songs.

Kiana also stated that she is currently leaning more toward a pop vibe, reminiscent of her father, Gary Valenciano’s iconic style.

“I’m really, really excited. It’s different to express ourselves in our native tongue. It’s really moving, a different experience. I’m having too much fun,” she added.

Besides her new single, Kiana also announced her upcoming album that will drop soon. She is also eyeing releasing a new batch of songs as she continues writing and recording nowadays.

“It’s kind of two years in the making,” Kiana said. “So you’ll hear a lot of my growth through my storytelling, and also sonically; the sound of the music, the genre, has been changing as well. It’s different from what I’ve released in the past, but a good kind of different.”

Kiana had recently performed at the National Diversity Coalition’s 21st Annual Economic Development Conference at The Landmark in Mission Hills, California with soul singer April Velasco, the internationally acclaimed all-male hip-hop dance group Junior New System, and Nonie Belarmino’s iDance Line Dancers.

She also joined her father Gary onstage last April 26 and 27 at his concert. Her brother, Gab Valenciano, also performed on both nights.

In 2020, Kiana moved to the US to further expand her skills and started a journey to a tremendous growth in her career and personal life. Beyond being miles apart, her parents continue to support their daughter.

Gary has spoken at length about how proud he is that Kiana is forging her own path in the world.

However, the loving dad admitted that he misses her, which is why it is special for him to share a stage with his daughter at his last concert after four decades in the industry.

This coming May 10, Kiana is set again to join her dad for his Pure Energy: One Last Time extension concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

As per the press release, all proceeds from the show will benefit the Valenciano family’s Shining Light Foundation, continuing Gary’s legacy of giving back through his music.  

Kiana is known as an R&B and soul artist who is paving her own path with her songs such as "Does She Know," "5:30," "Misfits," “See Me,” “Dare You,” and “Keep It Secret.”
