High Street actor Elijah Canlas shared a recent update on his and ex-girlfriend's, actress and host Miles Ocampo, current relationship status.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Elijah revealed that he and Miles are on good terms and taking things slow.

"We're doing good. We're very happy. Of course, of course. We're taking it easy," he said.

Earlier this month, Elijah was spotted at Miles’s surprise 27th birthday party where he was seen holding the actress’s cake and filming her.

Elijah also posted his short but sweet message for Miles’s special day on his Instagram story that was included in Miles’s Instagram highlight.

“Thank you for regularly making all of us smile one way or another, birthday girl. you are always loved. (Earth emoji),” he said with stills of cans with a sell-by date of May 1 from the 1994 film Chungking Express that also referred to Miles’s birthday.

The actor also included a photo where Miles was laying her head on his shoulder. He also used the Paul McCartney and Wings’ song, “She’s My Baby” for the background music.

Five days after their fun celebration, Miles posted some snaps from the party, including a photo of her and Elijah cutely smiling at each other while wearing party hats and holding a glass together.

"All our friends were there. Kami ang nag-organize sa salubong party niya. In-enjoy lang namin,” Elijah revealed.

The actor added, “Well, right now we’re just enjoying what we have. We’re taking things easy lang para walang pressure."

Elijah then expressed that, despite their busy schedules, the former couple maintain a good relationship and strong bond.

"We’re just taking our time. Doon lang kami sa focusing on our work. S'yempre, marami rin siyang work, marami rin akong work. Of course, the love and care for each other will always be there," he said.

Elijah and Miles went public about their relationship in May 2022. In an interview with Ogie Diaz in the same year, the actor shared that they started dating in 2021.

The couple then dated for more than two years before deciding to part ways last November 2023.

In January this year, the former Goin' Bulilit star revealed that they still remain on good terms and are now on speaking terms again after forgiving each other.

“We started this year na okay kami, nag-uusap na ulit. May mga bagay kaming dalawa lang ang makakaalam at makakasagot sa isa't isa, so might as well be friends for now,” she shared during her interview with Karen Davila.

Fast forward to March, Miles shared a short but hopeful update on her and Elijah’s possible reconciliation after their breakup last year.

In an interview with News 5, Miles hinted at a possible reconciliation after they were seen together at Miles’s fellow noontime show host Maine Mendoza’s birthday celebration.

“Let’s see. We’re working on it,” the actress smilingly said.

Elijah also had his fair share of hopeful updates as he answered MJ Felipe’s question about them being together again.

“Looking for love? What if love pa?” the Kapamilya actor remarked, which he quickly clarified.

“There's always love within us, right? There's always love within us... and I have so much love to give, you know,” he added.
