TWICE’s Dahyun is set to grace the silver screen as she  makes her acting debut in the upcoming independent feature film Sprint. In a report posted by Soompi, a source from JYP Entertainment confirmed that, “She has been cast for the project, and she is preparing for filming.”

On May 2, Sports DongA reported that Dahyun received an offer to star in the independent feature film.

Directed by Lee Seung-Hoon, Sprint is a heartwarming sports film, delving into the stories of individuals who relentlessly pursue their dreams against all odds. Joining Dahyun in this movie are actors Ha Seok-Jin and Lee Shin-Young.

Ha Seok-Jin, known for his performances in various projects, like playing Hyun Bin’s brother in the popular series, Crash Landing on You, and the Netflix game show, The Devil’s Plan, will take on the role of Kang Goo Young, who broke Korea’s 100 meter track record for the first time in 30 years. Contrary to his expectations, however, he approaches the end of his glory, no longer finding the sport enjoyable and regretting the path he took in life.

This character is based on the real-life athlete, Kim Kuk-Young. Ha Seok-Jin’s portrayal promises to add depth to the narrative as it explores the complexities of life beyond the limelight.

Meanwhile, Lee Shin-Young. will play the role of Seung Yeol, a spirited sprinter who finds solace and joy on the track, despite initially wanting a career in soccer.

Dahyun’s role in the movie has yet to be revealed, and her involvement in this movie marks a significant milestone in her career.

According to Soompi, the movie Sprint will reportedly start filming this May.

As Dahyun takes a step into the world of acting, fans are excited to see her on the big screen.
