It was a heartwarming reunion for the cast of the hit Kapamilya sitcom Home Along Da Riles as they finally reunited with former actress Cita Astals.

In a video posted by Claudine Barretto, the cast were seen becoming emotional after finally reuniting with the former actress.

“Welcome back, Cita Astals! "The family was lost for a while, but now it’s back,” the cast penned in their posts.

In the video, Cita surprised the cast members, including Smokey Manaloto, Boy 2 Quizon, Maybelyn dela Cruz, Gio Alvarez, Vandolph, and veteran actress Nova Villa, who were seemingly having an outdoor get-together.

“Hi everybody!” she announced, making everyone at the table stand up and look on in surprise.

The cast, who were very emotional about their reunion, shared how they felt seeing Cita and finally embracing her.

"Lahat sila nagtatanong where's Tita Cita. Finally, noong nakita ko 'yung reaction nung mga kapatid ko sa 'Home' (Along Da Riles), sila Tita Nova, nandon pa rin 'yung closeness, nandoon pa rin 'yung warm ng bawat isa," Maybelyn said in the interview part of the video.

Smokey added, "Noong niyakap namin siya, parang kahit na walang salita na lumalabas, naiintindihan namin. Naiintindihan namin siya.”

"The family was lost for a while, but now it's back," Gio continued.

Cita also expressed her happiness and gratitude by saying, “You all look the same, you are just taller... Thank you for having me here… Thank you for the effort of finding me.”

“Basta ang importante happy tayong lahat, buo ang pamilya,” Nova said.

Boy 2 Quizon also expressed his message to his Tita Cita.

“Tita, happy kami na tinanggap mo kami ulit,” he said.

Vandolph and Claudine also reiterated how the late Philippine Comedy King Dolphy was the one who guided them to be together again.

“Sabi ko nga sa inyo, guided kami by Tatay,” Vandolph said.

Claudine added, “Alam ko na nanonood sa amin si Tatay, na masayang, masayang masaya siya,” Claudine emotionally remarked.

Fans of the hit series couldn’t help but walk down memory lane seeing the beloved family reunited.

“Grabe naiyak ako sa happiness na makita ang cast ng home😍😢❤️sana magkaron ulit ng sitcom na katulad ng home along da riles,” a fan commented.

Another netizen wrote, “I was teary-eyed when Claudine hug Cita Astals it bring back the when i used to watch Home along the Riles.. Actually if Mr Dolphy was still alive he make it a point that everyone is Happy 😊.”

Actress Melissa Mendez also commented on Maybelyn’s post, “So happy for you all 😍.”

Maybelyn then replied, “@melissamendez_real Thank you, ate! It took us some time to find her. Sobrang bait ni God that He allowed all this to happen. 🙏”

In a reply to a follower’s question of why the cast were emotional, Maybelyn shared that the reunion was very special for them as they had lost their communication with the other actors since the show ended in 2003.

“We grew up together. When our show ended, we lost touch with everyone. Finally, after 20 years, we get to be together again,” Maybelyn said.
