K-pop group ENHYPEN are back in the Philippines for another event, much to the delight of their Filipino fans, also known as ENGENES.

Composed of Sunghoon, Jake, Jungwon, Heeseung, Sunoo, Jay and Ni-ki, the seven-member group met with the Philippine press on Monday, May 27, a day before their BENCH Fun Meet: A Sweet Experience event to be held on Tuesday, May 28, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

During the media conference, the group was asked about their feelings on having solid fanbases in South Korea and around the world.

Jake expressed their gratitude and aspirations, saying, “Even from the beginning, since our debut, we always want to go overseas and become, you know, loved globally. I think that was always the goal from the beginning. And, even though we sing in Korean and we perform in Korean, I feel like people all over the world can relate to our music, relate to our performance.”

Highlighting how music can bring people from all over the world together, he added, “Even here in the Philippines, we see a lot of people, a lot of fans, singing along to our songs. And every time we hear that, we feel like we’re very blessed and very happy.”

Having been to the Philippines several times before, are there activities they would like to experience or places they would like to visit?

Relaying the answer through an interpreter, the group expressed their interest in visiting popular tourist destinations in the Philippines namely Cebu and Boracay, as well as riding on a jet ski.

As ENHYPEN prepares for their fan meet at the Mall of Asia Arena, Filipino ENGENES are eagerly awaiting the chance to see their idols up close once again. The last time the K-pop group went to the country was last February for their FATE in Asia Tour concert that was held at the New Clark City Stadium in Tarlac.

Having debuted in late November of 2020, ENHYPEN popularized a number of hits including ‘Polaroid Love’, ‘FEVER’, ‘Drunk-Dazed’, ‘Bite Me’, and ‘Given-Taken’.
