Ang mommy ko po hindi siya nagtatrabaho kasi malaking kita naman daddy ko so super meron po kami bahay, pinapaaral nila ako golf, horseback riding, meron po kami kabayo nun," he shared.

"Tapos 7 years old ako meron kami [sa] Korea International Monetary Fund [crisis], bumagsak so walang naglalaro ng billiard," Ryan said.

Following the downfall of his dad's business, Ryan recalled that his parents started to always argue about money matters.

"So nag-divorce po sila so nung naghiwalay sila, grade 4 ako kasi sobrang ganda ng bahay tapos lumipat kami condo two-bedroom, tapos lumipat kami one-bedroom and then lumipat kami sa second floor na maliit na condo one room, wala kaming kwarto, studio," Ryan relayed.
"So nag-divorce po sila so nung naghiwalay sila, grade 4 ako kasi sobrang ganda ng bahay tapos lumipat kami condo two-bedroom, tapos lumipat kami one-bedroom and then lumipat kami sa second floor na maliit na condo one room, wala kaming kwarto, studio," Ryan relayed.
The Kapamilya host shared that he chose to stay with his mother after his parents got divorced.

When Ryan was in Grade 7, his mom was having a hard time sustaining their cost of living and decided to send him to the Philippines.

"'Yung best friend niya, nung medyo may kaya pa ang mommy ko tinulungan pala ng mommy ko 'yung kaibigan niya tapos 'yung kaibigan niya may negosyo dito, yumaman dahil sa pera ng mommy ko so nag-favor 'yung mommy ko, 'Pwede [diyan] muna tumira ang anak ko?' Kaibigan ng mommy ko may asawa pero walang anak so parang inampun nila ako," Ryan said.
