John Prats shared that his family started to venture into the resort business after his wedding.

When his family built what is Nayomi Sanctuary Resort in Batangas today, it was first intended as the venue for his wedding. They then thought of renting it out as a resort following John's union with Isabelle Oli.

"Dapat resthouse lang talaga 'to nung ikakasal na ako. Minadali ng dad ko itayo 'yung apat na villas kasi gusto niya dito ako ikasal," John relayed in an interview with Bernadette Sembrano.

He went on: "Ta's after nung wedding, sabi ko, 'Dad, why don't we share the experience that we had, ta's i-open natin, gawin nating resort.'"

The actor highlighted that his parents' journey as entrepreneurs was never easy.

"It was a tough journey for them also. Nung nakikita namin 'yun, naaalala ko ngayon na ang hirap pala 'yung pinagdaanan nila," he recalled.

He further shared: "We were trying to look for a new negosyo aside from us being an artista and my dad is trying to look for ano ba 'yung purpose niya."

John remarked that what he learned from managing their business was to always be courageous to try.

"Don't be scared to try kasi mas masakit 'yung 'di mo ni-try. 'Yung inisip mo lang ta's 'di mo sinubukan, 'yun 'yung failure. But 'yung approach na laban nang laban lang even with concerts when I direct," he said.

The actor further highlighted: "Minsan iniisip ko parang imposible pero when I push myself and nangyari siya, wow. Pero kung hindi at least I tried."

Aside from entrepreneurship, John has also been busy being a director of various concerts and television projects.

It was in 2018 when he started directing with Moira dela Torre's "Tagpuan" concert.

"When I did Moira’s ‘Tagpuan,’ I didn’t know what I was doing. Everything was my instinct, my vision, what I wanted to do. But there were people like Cynthia [Roque] of Cornerstone who guided me and gave me the right people to execute my vision," he recalled in a past interview with ABS-CBN News.

He added: "It was more than directing a concert. It’s like building a relationship with your artists. Being a friend to them. My advantage was I was in the industry. I was also a performer. So I know how it feels to be a performer."

John bagged his first project as a television director in 2021 to 2022 in Ang Probinsyano.

"When I was directing the scenes, I even edited. You really know there’s a personal touch in the scenes that you did,” he stated.
