Actor-turned-politician Bong Revilla revealed in a recent Facebook Live that he sustained an injury while shooting his highly-awaited comeback movie, Alyas Pogi. The Philippine lawmaker informed his followers on social media that he will be undergoing a surgery to repair the said injury.

The Senator tore his achilles tendon while filming as a result of running too fast.

“Magandang gabi po. Hulaan niyo kung nasaan ako. Nasa ospital. Medyo malungkot na balita but I’m okay naman,” he shared.

Despite the situation, the Philippine senator looked to be in a good mod on Facebook Live. He asked his social media followers for prayers for his upcoming operation.

“Yung aking achilles tendon ay medyo may partial tear kaya medyo kailangan ng operation. We will know by tomorrow kaya please pray for me,” he added.

“First day ko ng 'Alyas Pogi' yesterday kasama ko pa si Ara Mina and Epy Quizon but you know may mga pangyayaring minsan hindi maiiwasan, mangyayari talaga yon. Basta importante ipagdasal niyo na hindi po grabe. Pero na-MRI na po ako kanina at sinabi nga ng doktor na bale 50% ng aking achilles ay na tear yun po dahil sa pagtakbo, dahil sa sobrang bilis ko raw tumakbo,” he revealed.

Once operated on, Bong will be taking at least three to five months for his achilles tendon to heal. His son, Jolo Revilla, was the one who accompanied him to the hospital. He shared other details about the upcoming operation and what needed to be done beforehand.

“Mag uundergo ng operation si Papa. Pero malalaman pa namin lahat ng updates by tomorrow sa doctors niya. Nag rerequest lang kami ng prayers from you guys na maging successful ang operation niya. Ichecheck muna yung lahat ng bloodworks niya kung pwede na siyang operahan,” Jolo shared.
