Written and produced remotely—with Dhruv working from his bedroom studio in New Delhi and Peej recording from Manila—the song serves as a reflection on modern-day loneliness. With sophisticated songwriting and indelible melodies, the track shows the best of both worlds: restraint and power in equal measure, but one whose emotional impact resonates to people of all generations.

“When Dhruv had initially sent over the first verse and chorus of the song – I had read into the lyrics and assumed he was probably going through a difficult time in his love life,” shares Peej. “I didn't bother asking, because I didn't want to pry. I only found out after the song was made that his initial idea was about wanting to tear him self into pieces, so he could reinvent himself. When I wrote my parts for the song, suddenly, the song turned into a story about loneliness and desire for connection after a lover has left. Although it isn't what Dhruv initially had in mind for the theme of the song, we are both extremely proud of what we've created.”

At its core, Pieces is more than just a song; it’s an anthem that speaks to a shared emotional reality. It’s a reminder that while the world may feel fractured, the yearning for connection remains universal and timeless.
