Kate Middleton, also known as Catherine, Princess of Wales, just revealed to the public that she was recently diagnosed with cancer following her planned abdominal surgery earlier this year. This shocking news comes after netizens have questioned the Royal Family about her whereabouts for the past few months.

The Princess of Wales revealed as well that she is undergoing “preventative chemotherapy” and is in the early stages of the said treatment.

“I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you personally for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I’ve been recovering from surgery. It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me for which I am so grateful,” she shared.

In the two-minute video, the Princess of Wales explained the serious situation she is currently in without disclosing the full details of her cancer. She shared that after her successful abdominal surgery in January, tests found that cancer had been present.

“My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I’m now in the early stages of that treatment. This of course came as a huge shock and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” she added.

The 42-year-old royal continued that she already explained to her three children about the situation “in a way that is appropriate for them” and assured everyone that she will be fine.

“As I’ve said to them, I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal in my mind, body, and spirits. Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too,” she continued.

She expressed her gratitude to everyone who expressed their concern for her absence and promised that she will be back to her usual routine as Princess of Wales when she makes a full recovery.

“We hope that you’ll understand that as a family we now need some time, space, and privacy while I complete my treatment,” she said.

“At this time, I’m also thinking of all those whose lives have been affected by cancer. For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone,” she ended.

Kate is the second British royal to announce her cancer diagnosis this year. Previously, King Charles revealed to the public about his condition through a statement from Buckingham Palace.

Both royals are receiving treatment for their respective diseases.
