Bimby Aquino Yap has decided to stay in the United States to look after his mom Kris Aquino, setting aside his plans to join the entertainment industry.

This was the revelation of Kris's close friend, Vice Gov. Mark Leviste.

In an interview with Inquirer at the Barako Fest 2024, the public official shared: "There were plans for him to explore show business. Alam mo si Bimb talagang hahanga ka sa bata. He’s way ahead of his time. Even if he’s only barely 17,” he said.

The vice governor further applauded Bimby for his commitment to take care of his mother.

"He thinks, he acts, he cares and loves his mom like an adult. Well, he is a young adult, he’s mature, very responsible for his age and he takes good care of his mom like no other,” he said.

Kris is currently in the US undergoing treatment for her autoimmune diseases.  

Mark also shared that Kris postponed her hospital confinement because of the COVID-19 alert in LA.

"She postponed her confinement at UCLA hospital. While I was still there, nagkaroon ng COVID alert sa mga medical facilities. That's why I decided to go home first kasi waiting time. But any time that she needs me to be in Los Angeles, of course, I'll give it my utmost priority,” he stated.

Back in February, Kris shared an update about her health on social media. The Queen of All Media revealed that she now has cardiomyopathy.

"Because of Churg Strauss (an autoimmune disease) I now have cardiomyopathy. This means my heart muscles are having trouble pumping blood due to inflammation, and because of that inflammation, it’s exhausting my heart and causing it to begin to fail and ultimately, please pray with me- sana hindi tuluyang sumuko or mag-cardiac arrest,” she said.

Kris also asked for her followers and fans to pray for her medical team.

"Please help me pray for my doctors and my nurses so that God will continue to guide them as they try to heal me. I have always believed in sharing the truth no matter how painful with all of you. Why? Because sinamahan nyo ako sa laban. Sana wag tayong sumuko sa ating pananampalataya na nakikinig ang Diyos sa mga Dasal ng buo ang tiwala sa Kanya," she remarked.
