As one of the lead stars of Black Cap pictures' latest film Three Days, Two Nights in Poblacion, Barbie Imperial admitted she really looked forward to working closely with fellow actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith for the first time on the big screen.

“I was so excited to work with Jasmine. Lagi kong naririnig na magaling sya, I was so inspired when we were filming,” she told PUSH.

The movie is a comedy-drama which revolves around the relationship between two women named Gabbi and Charlie, longtime best friends whose platonic love for each other is tested during an unplanned stay on the party streets of Poblacion, Makati City.

Also part of the cast is actor JM de Guzman, who plays their high school batchmate and Jasmine’s longtime love interest. In real life, it was Barbie who was linked to JM after working with him on the 2018 ABS-CBN drama series Araw-Gabi. During that time, the two admitted to ending their friendship after Barbie revealed their dating status.

In a previous interview, she shared, “Bati na kami. Friends. Hindi ko naman ex talaga si JM eh. Hindi naman naging kami. Nag-date kami. Pero sinabi ko naman na hindi kami friends.”

While working on Three Days, Two Nights in Poblacion, the two seem to have patched things up, with Barbie sharing her experience seeing him again on the set. “I was excited! As usual, magaling sya.”

Playing the role of the cool and independent woman Charlie, who has curated the best version of herself in the big city after growing up in the province, Barbie said it was not hard to play her character convincingly because she can relate it to her own personality.

“The difference between Charlie and Barbie is, Im a super supportive best friend when it comes to love. Never kontra. Basta pag nadapa siya or it fails, I will be there, tutulungan ko sya bumangon ulit. But i think it depends sa sitwasyon talaga."

The film, shot by RC Delos Reyes, features some of the most popular hotspots in Makati City’s busiest streets where Barbie and her co-stars enjoyed filming indoor and outdoor scenes.

“My favorite spot in Poblacion was Alamat, super chill and ang sarap ng drinks nila. This film reminds us why friendship is more important than love,” she added.

Rated R-13, 3 Days 2 Nights in Poblacion also stars JM de Guzman, Kakai Bautista, Mercedes Cabral, and Lady Morgana. It is now playing in 140 cinemas nationwide.
