Moana 2 follows the story of the reunion of Moana and Maui "three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced" as per teaser of the film.

Starring Auli‘i Cravalho as the voice of Moana and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the voice of Maui, the film is directed by David Derrick Jr.

Moana 2 will feature music by Grammy winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foaʻi, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina.

It was early this year when it was announced that a sequel to Moana will hit the big screen this November.

"This was originally developed as a series, but we were impressed with what we saw and we knew it deserved a theatrical release," Disney's CEO Bob Iger said as per CNBC.
