Kiko Pangilinan shared the inspiration behind his decision to get into farming. In 2011, he purchased a three-hectare farm, which he named Sweet Spring Country Farm.

"By 2010 so umikot na ako sa iba't ibang farms, nakita ko na 'yung mga problema, sabi ko sa sarili ko after one year of going around, unless ako mismo ang magfa-farm hindi ko buong maiintindihan 'yung mga dinadanas ng mga farmer," he shared in an interview with Bernadette Sembrano for the latter's YouTube vlog.

Kiko had his first harvest on the farm, which were lettuce plants, in June of 2012. "I have been harvesting monthly, pretty much lettuce and herbs," he relayed.

On why the farm is called Sweet Spring Country Farm, Kiko relayed that there is natural spring water in the middle of the property. "Free-flowing pa rin siya so kita mo 'yung eco-system niya," he relayed.

Kiko highlighted that farming has brought him so much fulfillment. "Walang katumbas na kasiyahan ang bountiful harvest and fulfillment," he remarked.

He also shared that farming has taught him a lot of life lessons. One of which is patience. "Natuto kang tumanggap ng talo na lahat eh mayroong panahon. Hindi mo pwedeng pilitin ang kalikasan, you cannot force nature," he relayed.

Kiko also said that it taught him humility. "Kasi dati akala mo kaya mo lahat eh at pagkahinarap ka ng force of nature di ba, dapat naging humble ka na may mga bagay talaga na wala sa kamay mo so tinatanggap mo 'yun," he said.

Farming also taught him about hope. "Kasi bawat tanim mo, umaasa ka eh. Di ka naman pwedeng hindi nangangarap na magkaroon ng [harvest]... so ang daming lessons in character building."

In the middle of Kiko's farm is a two-bedroom farmhouse. He shared that whenever his family visits the farm, it brings them relaxation and has been good for their overall health.

"Ang isa pang come on dito, sa dami ng puno meron kasing science behind [kung] pumupunta sa mapunong lugar, nagpapababa ng heart rate at tsaka pulse rate. Nakaka-kalma," he said.
