Maymay Entrata gets featured in GRAMMYS ‘It Goes to 11’ original series

Kapamilya artist Maymay Entrata achieved another milestone as she became a featured artist in the GRAMMYS original series It Goes to 11.

On their social media pages, the GRAMMYS uploaded a video of Maymay sharing her favorite piece of music gear.

“My name is Maymay and in-ear is my favorite and meaningful piece of gear since I started in the music industry. I started learning singing three years ago. For the first year I learned how to sing, Sir, I still noticed myself, I feel like I’m still flat, I’m still sharp, basically out of tune,” Maymay said in the video.

On her Instagram page, the Kapamilya star also shared some behind-the-scenes photos from her interview with the Recording Academy.

“Waaaaaaaaaah! my heart bai! I still couldn’t believe we made it to GRAMMY studio po 😭 THANK YOU SO MUCH @recordingacademy for having me po, this is definitely one of my most unforgettable memories. ✨🥹🫶🏻,” she wrote in the caption.

In the video, Maymay revealed that she didn’t know about in-ear monitors as a newbie music artist. She then went to OPM icon Gary Valenciano who introduced her to the benefits of using the musical gear in her performance.

“I went right away to Mister, Sir Gary V, one of the most iconic music artists in the Philippines po and I asked him, ‘Sir, what’s that in your ear?’ He said, ‘It will help you to hear yourself when you’re singing and hit that note right away,'” Maymay recalled.

Realizing that it would be a great help for her, Maymay then got one for herself.

“This in-ear is one of the things that gives me confidence for me to be able to hear myself more and for me to be able to sing well, better than before,” Maymay expressed.

She went on: “I have the biggest realization that no magic or equipment that will make you skip learning on something that you want to pursue or something that you want to be passionate about.“

Maymay then showed her customized in-ear which it had her logo with two Ms and three dots, just like her tattoo.

“It will always take hard work, perseverance and patience for you to have it, for you to learn it. I know that this will help me to sing better, to hear myself better,” she further explained.

Bringing her gear, Maymay reiterated the importance of her in-ear.

“This is very meaningful to me because it will always remind me that hard work is one of the key to success,” she remarked.

In the latter part of the video, the “AMAKABOGERA” singer shared how she wanted to be an inspiration to everyone through her music.

“I love to be a blessing to others, to be able to give inspiration to those people who listen to my songs,” she stated.

Netizens and fans who have watched the video were quick to react to Maymay’s milestone.

“Maymay! Pinoy pride! 💙🫶,” a netizen said.

Another one expressed, “Ohmy! Our Amakabogera @maymay We are so proud of you! Congratulations Maymay! Thank you for being an inspiration to many. You are our pinoy pride and we are happy to see you fly and soaring high! ❤️❤️❤️.”

Gary also commented, saying: “Proud of you @maymay 🤍🤍🤍.”

It Goes to 11 is one of the GRAMMYS' original series where it features artists around the world and their special music gear and equipment.

Some notable artists that have been featured in the series include Alec Benjamin, Bruno Major, All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth, Vietnamese singer Thuy, Korean artists The BOYZ, The Rose, B.I. and DPR Ian, among others.
