Zayn Malik decided to postpone his US tour following the passing of his fellow One Direction member Liam Payne.

The singer made the announcement on social media platform X saying: "Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I’ve made the decision to postpone the US leg of the STAIRWAY TO THE SKY Tour."

The dates are being rescheduled for January. "I’ll post them as soon as it’s all set in the next few days. Your tickets will remain valid for the new dates. Love you all and thank you for your understanding," Zayn said.

Liam passed away at the age of 31 after falling from the third floor of Casa Sur Hotel in Argentina as per the Buenos Aires police. His death was confirmed by the medics at the scene.

Zayn released a message on social media following his bandmate's passing, remembering the positive outlook of Liam from the early years of their band.

He was also all praises for the musical talent of the late singer sharing, "I was always happy to know, no matter what happened on stage, we could always rely on you to know which way to steer the ship next."

Zayn went on: "I lost a brother when you left us and can't explain to you what I'd give to just give you a hug one last time and say goodbye to you properly and tell you that I loved and respected you dearly."

The singer added: "I will cherish all the memories I have with you in my heart forever."

He shared that he is devastated on what happened to his bandmate. "There are no words to justify or explain how I feel right now other than beyond devastated. I hope that wherever you are right now, you are good and are at peace. And you know how loved you are," he wrote.

One Direction also released a joint statement after Liam's death.

"We're completely devastated by the news of Liam's passing," they wrote. "We will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly. The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever."
