"Summer just go a BILLION TIMES CRUELER. Love you all so much for this," she wrote.

"Cruel Summer" is part of Taylor's seventh studio album Lover which was released in 2019.

Four years since it was released, the song started gaining more traction after Taylor kicked off The Eras Tour in March. "Cruel Summer" is one of the opening tracks of the tour.

Last June, the singer decided to release it as a single. It peaked at No. 3 of the Billboard Hot 100 as of this writing. The song continues to be in the top 10 of the chart.

Taylor also used "Cruel Summer" as the background track for the trailer of "The Eras Tour" film concert which is set to be released in October.

Following the successful and historic US leg of The Eras Tour this year, the pop star announced that she will be bringing the concert to theaters.

"The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon 😆," she posted on August 31 as she announced the film concert.

She added: "Starting Oct 13th you’ll be able to experience the concert film in theaters in North America! Tickets are on sale now. Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged 🫶 1, 2, 3 LGB!!!! (iykyk)."

Taylor's Eras Tour is poised to become the biggest tour in history as it could gross $2.2 billion in the US alone according to a report by CNN.
