"We both complement each other and enhance each other."

These were the words of Nadine Lustre's boyfriend, French-Filipino entrepreneur Christophe Bariou, on what he admires most about his relationship with the actress.

Christophe also highlighted that they bring out the best in each other. 

"I think that’s the thing I value the most in our relationship is that I think we’re way better [people] when we’re together," he remarked in an interview with MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN News. 

With the recent big accomplishments of his girlfriend — including winning the Best Actress award at FAMAS anew — the entrepreneur said that he is very proud of Nadine.

"I'm proud of what she's done and what she's doing and I'm trying to help her the best I can. But for me she's still like a normal person so that's why we're together pretty much," he stated.

When asked if tying the knot soon is already part of their plans, Christophe responded: "I think we're really super aligned where it's going for our relationship and we're both really don't wanna make plans or be strict  or be in a box."

Christophe recently accompanied Nadine at the Vogue Philippines anniversary gala.

"I'm not gonna pretend it's my usual environment but I'm super happy to be here with her. And actually some of my friends are here so I'm  happy to be here," he said about attending the event.

The couple went public about their relationship in 2022.

Nadine and Christophe first met in Siargao.

In an interview with Boy Abunda in July 2022, Nadine shared how their paths had crossed for the first time.

"I have friends who have been living in Siargao for a while now. So in July last year, two of my friends [and I] ended up going to Siargao just for a vacation. Medyo maluwag na nung time na 'yun so we were able to fly out," she relayed in the interview.

"We stayed in another place but one of my good friends kasi is working for him... So she asked him [if] we can go to his spot because there's a secret beach there where there's no one there most of the time and it's really peaceful. 'Yun 'yung kung saan nagmi-meet 'yung ilog tsaka 'yung dagat," she added. 

"So she asked him if we could go but we ended up just swimming in his pool. That's pretty much it," she continued. 

When asked what Christophe felt about dating a public figure, Nadine answered, saying: "He is [comfortable]. Well, he's getting used to it at least. I think he understands that it's something that he cannot escape. You know, it's part of it. So he's okay with it."
