Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo received the Outstanding Asian Star Award at the Seoul International Drama Awards on Thursday, September 21 in Seoul, South Korea. 

In her speech, the actress remarked that being nominated alone was already a win for her and receiving the award in Korea has been an overwhelming experience.

"When I initially found out about this nomination and recognition for my craft from such an esteemed award-giving body, that itself is already a win for me. But being here tonight to personally receive this award along with my fellow awardees from Asia, I am still overwhelmed. It still feels surreal," she said.

Kathryn extended her gratitude to her co-actors and to the team behind 2 Good 2 Be True which paved the way for her to receive the recognition.

"Please allow me to thank our brilliant directors behind 2 Good 2 Be True. Direk Mae Cruz-Alviar, direk Paco Sta. Maria, our writers headed by ninang Mel (del Rosario). And to my brilliant co-actors Mr. Daniel Padilla and Mr. Ronaldo Valdez and to the whole team of 2 Good 2 Be True. I would like to share this award with all of you," she stated.

Kathryn remarked that 2 Good 2 Be True was more than just another show for her because it helped educate people about Alzheimer's disease.

"I fell in love with this project because of its unique storyline. It's always been about more than just sharing a love story to our audience but also spreading awareness on Alzheimer's disease and educating people about those who struggle with it and how we can offer them the best support that they need. So this project made me appreciate our nurses and our healthcare workers so it was really more than another just another TV show for me," she said.

Kathryn also thanked her supporters saying, "And to my fans from the Philippines, this is for you. You guys are a gem and I appreciate each and everyone of you."

The Kapamilya star highlighted how 2 Good 2 Be True was the first team up of ABS-CBN and Netflix. "I hope we continue to produce world class projects not just for Filipinos bit for the whole world to see," she said.

Kathryn remarked that she is humbled to represent Filipino talent in the awards ceremony.

"I am so proud and humbled to be on this stage representing FIlipino talent and being a Filipina. This means so much to me. Again thank you so much. From the bottom of my heart, maraming maraming salamat po," she remarked.
