Lee Do-hyun is the latest South Korean star to enlist this year in the military. The actor’s management, Yuehua Entertainment, confirmed the news that he is set to undergo basic military training on August 14.

Lee Do-Hyun will be joining the South Korean Air Force’s military band as reported by news portal Soompi who cited Yuehua Entertainment’s statement.

“After receiving basic military training at the training center [starting] on August 14, Lee Do Hyun will fulfill his military duty through ROKAF’s (Republic of Korea Air Force) military band,” the statement wrote.

Additionally, Yuehua Entertainment added in their statement that the South Korean actor will not have any activities on the day of his enlistment as he wants to keep it as private as possible.

“No separate official event will be held on the day of enlistment, and we ask fans to refrain from visiting as it is a private event that numerous military personnel and family members will be attending,” they added.

The management asked the fans of Lee Do-hyun to send their encouragement instead and wait for his successful return from his military duties.

Lee Do-hyun started his acting career with a cameo role in the hit K-Drama Prison Playbook in 2017. Since then, he has appeared and starred in several K-Dramas such as Hotel del LunaSweet Home18 AgainYouth of MayThe Glory, and the recent Netflix hit The Good Bad Mother.

The 28-year-old actor confirmed earlier this year that he is in a romantic relationship with his The Glory co-star Lim Ji-yeon. The two actors “developed an interest in one another” and are getting to know each other more.

Lee Do-hyun is just one of the many South Korean men who are set to enlist this year. All able-bodied men are required to serve the military for almost two years before reaching the age of 30.

Notable celebrities that enlisted in the South Korean military this year are BTS’s J-Hope, EXO’s Kai, GOT7’s JAYB, and Nam Joo-hyuk, among others.
