Chie Filomeno continues her winning streak as part of the cast of the much-awaited Star Cinema film A Very Good Girl which is headlined by Dolly de Leon and Kathryn Bernardo. 

This, as she becomes one of the Kapamilya stars who inked a new network deal with ABS-CBN earlier this month, 

Chie was also part of the Netflix film Missed Connections released earlier this year. 

The Star Magic artist admits she has her inspirations in life partly thanks to all the blessings she has been receiving in her career. 

“Siyempre alam mo 'yung nadagdagan ng inspiration? Kasi in order for us para mas andiyan 'yung drive, kailangan mas madagdagan pa 'yung inspiration mo eh," she shared during the A Very Good Girl grand press launch this month. 

She went on: Kasi we have our family, we have our friends, so it’s good din na merong someone na nandiyan para to guide you, give you advice, and to push you. Kasi minsan you doubt yourself eh kung kaya mo." 

"Pero ayan andiyan 'yung mga taong nakapaiigid sa ‘yo, yung foundation nandiyan. I’m just really happy I’m surrounded by people who trust me,”

In a recent interview, Chie’s rumored boyfriend Jake Cuenca became vocal about how much he admires her for her pure heart and love for family, which the 27-year-old actress said she deeply appreciated. 

“Actually napanuod ko 'yun and my parents saw that also. And sobrang, I’m happy kasi hindi lahat ng lalake vocal about their feelings for someone, especially in this industry. And ang tapang niya, ang tapang niya to show his admiration also," she said. 

"I’m just really happy na sa mga sinabi niya sa akin na nakakakilig talaga. And I do admire him,” she added. 

When asked if her parents had any reservations about her being linked to Jake, Chie admitted: “Of course, they do. But na-meet na ng parents ko si Jake nung premiere nung Cattleya Killer and sabi naman nila mommy and daddy 27 na naman ako so I can make my own decisions and andiyan pa rin naman sila to guide me.”

As for the official status of their relationship, Chie said that this is actually the second time they have tried dating each other. 

“We’re talking, taking our time. You can say dating, of course. Nag-uusap kami. Alam niya kasi, 'yung maganda kay Jake is alam niya kasi where my heart is, kung anong priority ko. And hindi niya ako minamadali. Very gentleman siya and he respects my decision and he’s willing to wait," she said. 

She went on: "I think in a relationship, any kind of relationship, understanding, 'yun 'yung pinaka importante. Wala pa naman (formality). But I’ve known him for a while. I’ve known him for so long. Prior to us having a relationship, because in the interview he said na dated before. We did date before a couple of times. Pero kasi understandable kasi 'yun 'yung phase niya na medyo marami pang nangyayari sa kanya and I was young back then. And in-accept namin yung fact na nawala 'yun." 

"And then I think naging destiny na lang din talaga na nagkita kami sa Christmas Ball. Babalik tayo dun sa nag-date kami before, nawala kasi yun and then cut to nagkita kami and then naging persistent siya. Naging patient siya kasi medyo ilag pa ako sa kanya nun. Hindi ko siya sinasagot, parang snob pa ako nun. Dini-deadma ko yung mga DMs niya before. Pero nakita ko naman yung change niya,” she continued. 

Directed by Petersen Vargas under Star Cinema, A Very Good Girl opens in cinemas starting on September 27.
